Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both sides of the discussion and give a personal view: online viewing is presented as convenient and economical, while cinemas and theatres are linked to employment, business activity and shared cultural experiences. The Netflix example supports the first view, and the references to actors, technicians and local businesses are relevant to the second. However, the ideas are not developed equally or in much detail. For example, the claim that cinemas offer “social awareness” is unclear, and the cultural importance of theatres is not explained with a specific example. Your opinion is present, but the conclusion that both forms are “outstanding” does not clearly state how you weigh their importance. Explain the cultural and economic benefits more precisely and make your position consistent throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the discussion. However, connections between some ideas are mechanical or unclear. In the first body paragraph, “However” does not clearly introduce a contrast after the point about convenience, and the sentence beginning “Furthermore” combines several ideas without a clear progression. References such as “these” in “these also provide better opportunities” are not fully precise. Use linking words according to the relationship between ideas, and organise each paragraph around one main point followed by explanation and an example. This would make the progression easier to follow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “online streaming,” “subscribe,” “technicians,” “local stores,” and “affordable,” so the reader can understand the main discussion. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as “social awareness” and “better quality.” However, the range and control of vocabulary are limited by repeated general words such as “experiance,” “best way,” and “great,” as well as inaccurate word choices and collocations. Phrases such as “important for economically,” “wide range of source,” and “huge screen benefits” are difficult to interpret naturally. Spelling errors, including “platfarms,” “cineams,” and “trasportation,” also reduce clarity. Build a more precise range of topic-related expressions and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including explanations with “because” and a contrast introduced by “although.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but sentence control is inconsistent, and some errors make relationships between ideas harder to follow. Examples include “online platforms increased and convenient,” where the verb structure is incomplete, and “mostly people has busy schedule,” which has agreement and article problems. The opening also contains sentence-boundary and capitalisation issues, while “although online streaming and tradition streaming are both…” is not completed as a clear contrast. Practise forming complete clauses, checking subject–verb agreement and articles, and using punctuation to separate sentences. More accurate control of these patterns would make your ideas clearer.
