Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You attempt to discuss online entertainment and the continuing cultural and economic value of theatres and cinemas, and you give a broadly favourable view of these venues. However, the comparison is not fully developed: the online side is mainly described as convenient and potentially affected by internet or electricity problems, while the cultural and economic claims about venues are difficult to follow or insufficiently explained. For example, the point about students building confidence through performances is relevant, but its connection to theatres and cinemas needs clarification. Your own position is also not stated clearly in a focused introduction or conclusion. The response is one word below the required 250-word minimum; the eight words copied from the task prompt are not counted. Develop both views and state your opinion explicitly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has some paragraph breaks and moves from online viewing to cultural activities and then economic benefits, so a basic attempt at grouping ideas is present. However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the opening combines several claims without establishing a clear plan, and the discussion shifts between cinemas as places to watch films and venues for cultural performances. Connections between sentences are often unclear; for instance, “In theator we see online performing of actors” does not clearly link to the preceding point about internet problems. Repeated use of “and” also makes the writing feel like a list rather than a developed argument. Organise the essay into a clear introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion, using precise references and linking phrases.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some task-related vocabulary, including “digital age,” “cultural,” “values,” “economically,” and “advertise,” which shows an attempt to discuss both cultural and financial aspects. However, the range is basic and several word choices or collocations make meaning unclear, such as “theatres is the main place where people become actors,” “better speed of internet,” and “large amount of profect.” Spelling errors are also frequent, including “Netflex,” “avialable,” “perfroming,” and “intresets,” and these sometimes make the reader work to understand the point. Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully. For example, use “streaming platforms,” “live performances,” and “generate revenue” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both short statements and longer sentences with reasons, such as the sentence beginning “But if you watch online movie…,” but control of sentence structure is limited. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur repeatedly: “the theatres is,” “people become actors and performs,” and “they thinks.” Articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “in home” and the run-on construction “Some People cannot take serious for theatres they thinks…”. These problems sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “although,” or “while.” Check subject–verb agreement, articles, and punctuation when editing.
