Student answer (Band 5.0)
In the contemporary world, technology has become an essesntial part of people's personal and professional lives. A significant number of individuals believe that in the modern age, people can watch all the entertainments online so theatres and cinemas are no longer important for them. While others contend that theatres and cinemas have importance in both cultural and economical aspects. From my perspective, I believe that in the digital age, both have lost it's importance in people's lives because everything is available on social media. In the digital world, individuals have access to everything on social media so cinemas and theatres are no longer in existance. One of the main reasons for this is that the internet provides numerous variety of materials on it at home on digital devices like mobile phones. Consequently, people do not feel much importance to go cinemas and watch different kinds of movies there. For example, citizens have easily access to latest movies and songs with the help of the internet, however they enjoy to watch their favourite movies at home. Theatres and cinemas both are not much important in this fastest paced world. In contrast, many people believe that they both have importance in economy of the country. It is due to this reason because most of the time people want to watch their favourite movies on big screen in cinemas. For example, in Pakistan, drama industry spend their resources on their trendy dramas, and launch their last episodes in cinemas. So in this way, they earn more money and also promote it's importance. In addition, if individuals went to theatres and cinemas , they would definitly have knowledge about the culture of their country. To conclude, I firmly believe that in this advance world, people do not much time to go theatres and cinemas for watching any kind of movies. Because they have access to the internet easily and watch their movies at home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You present a clear view that online entertainment has reduced the importance of cinemas and theatres, and you also mention the opposing economic and cultural arguments. However, the discussion is only partially developed: the first body paragraph mainly repeats that people can watch films at home, while the opposing view receives limited support. The Pakistan example about drama episodes being released in cinemas is relevant, but its economic and cultural significance could be explained more fully. The cultural point is introduced briefly, without a specific example. To strengthen the response, explain both sides in comparable detail and make your conclusion acknowledge why venues may still matter despite your preference for online viewing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “In contrast” and “To conclude” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes repetitive: the first body paragraph returns several times to the idea that people watch films at home, and the conclusion largely repeats the introduction rather than drawing the discussion together. Some linking is mechanical, particularly “It is due to this reason because,” and the long spacing between sections does not replace clear development. Organise each body paragraph around a distinct main point, then connect the example directly to that point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “digital age,” “big screen,” “resources,” and “promote,” so the reader can follow the general discussion. However, the range is limited and several noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling errors make expression less natural. Examples include “all the entertainments,” “numerous variety of materials,” “fastest paced world,” and “advance world”; “importance” is also repeated frequently. Spelling errors such as “essesntial,” “existance,” and “definitly” further reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise terms for online access, cultural value, and economic contribution, and check common collocations and spelling during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While others contend” and a conditional structure, “if individuals went to theatres and cinemas, they would…”. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction, agreement, articles, and possessives. For example, “theatres and cinemas are no longer in existance” lacks a natural grammatical construction, while “drama industry spend” has a subject–verb agreement error. In “both have lost it's importance,” the possessive form is incorrect, and “people do not much time” is missing a verb. Practise building accurate clauses and checking agreement, verb forms, and sentence completeness before adding more complex structures.
