Student answer (Band 6.0)
Some people argue that in this modern world, entertaiment and recreational facilities such as theatres and cinemas are not important because people can watch everything online, while others believe that they are still important both economically and culturally. This eassy will discuss both perspectives, but i belive that theatres and cinemas are not that much beneficial nowadays.
With the advent of cutting-edge technology, we have streaming platforms such as Netfix and Amazon Prime where we can watch all kinds movies, tv series, documentary. People also have free resources such as youtube. Nowadays, people dont need to go outside to spend time with their loved ones and spend their lesiure time. They can do them from the comfort of their home which is why many entertaiment facilities are becoming obsolete day by day. Young people avoid theatres and cinemas because they are crowded and sometimes can be exorbitant also. More often than not, they can find alternatives in online better than these at cheap prices. For example, Dhaka is quite notorious for its traffic jams. It's can take almost 1 hour to go to the nearby cinema complex, and for that reason, i will prefer online platforms because it saves my commuting time and provide me a healthy comfortable environment just like i want. Meanwhile, purchasing ticket can be quite challenging also as these facilities have limited sitting arrangement. People can use them anywhere they want for example while they are commuting, they can just use their smartphones to use them.
On the other hand, some people think that we should not spend lot of time on social media and digial streaming platforms. we should communicate face to face and going outside exposes us to various experience which is important for developing resilience and confidence. Apart from that, many elderly does not embrace this innovative solutions such as social media, digital platform as a result thay lack knowledge about their importantance and efficiency. Also, they think that this facilities are important culturally. It's true to some extent because they have a sentimental value for them whereas it's missing in the young people as they have grown up with these technology and tools. Similarly, digital platforms also contribute a lot in our economoy because more people rely on them instead of cinema. For example, from a latest survey published by a popular media, around 12 million people use streaming sites where as only thousands go to cinemas and theatres at the present time.
In conclusion, although theatres and cinemas contribute a lot in both economically and culturally. I believe embracing this digital age is more beneficial and efficient for us as it saves money and time and we can sepnd our time well. At the end of day, these facilities have to move with the times.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address both views and state a clear opinion: the introduction says theatres and cinemas are “not that much beneficial nowadays,” and the conclusion reinforces the advantages of digital entertainment. Your discussion of online convenience is supported with a relevant Dhaka traffic example, while the opposing view includes face-to-face contact and cultural value. However, the economic argument is unclear: the claim that streaming contributes to the economy because people use it instead of cinemas does not explain the economic benefits to either sector. The point about older people’s attitudes is also not fully connected to why theatres remain important. Develop these ideas with clearer reasoning and more specific support so that both sides are explored more evenly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two perspectives, and a conclusion. Ideas generally progress from the convenience of streaming to reasons for retaining traditional venues, and examples help illustrate the first view. However, some links between ideas are unclear or mechanical. For instance, “Similarly” introduces an economic point that does not clearly follow from the discussion of cultural value, and the paragraph’s claim about streaming’s economic contribution needs a clearer connection. There are also long sequences of points joined by “and” or “also,” which can make the argument feel list-like. Use topic sentences to establish each paragraph’s main claim and make transitions show the precise relationship between supporting ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “streaming platforms,” “sentimental value,” “resilience,” and “commuting time,” and these choices help communicate relevant ideas. There are also attempts at less common expressions such as “cutting-edge technology” and “notorious for its traffic jams.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, however, as in “all kinds movies,” “alternatives in online,” and “limited sitting arrangement.” Spelling errors such as “entertaiment,” “eassy,” “Netfix,” and “economoy” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more natural combinations, such as “a wide range of films” and “limited seating,” and proofread carefully so spelling slips do not distract from your argument.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including subordinate clauses such as “because people can watch everything online” and “which is why many entertainment facilities are becoming obsolete.” Meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “i believe” and “i will prefer,” where pronoun capitalisation and verb form need attention; “People dont need to go outside … and spend,” where the structure is not parallel; and “many elderly does not embrace,” where subject–verb agreement is incorrect. There are also sentence-boundary and punctuation problems, such as “It's can take almost 1 hour” and the lower-case “we” after a full stop. Review agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence punctuation, then check each sentence for a complete and consistent structure.
