Student answer (Band 5.0)

Several individual argue that the theatres and cinemas are no longer crucially required as all the people watch entertainment they want can watch by digital technology, whereas some people says that they are stilL play a vital role in both financially and culturally. While from my perspective, there is no acquired of theaters and cinemas owing to fact that of development of online plateforms. In this essay, i will discuss both and give my own opinion with the relevance examples,

At first glance, in modern digital world there is minuscule need of the cinemas and theatres. This is due to the developement of technologies like the mobile phone and laptop the individuals are using currently, in which the people can use numerous apps similarly tik tok, youtube and facebook for their entertainment such as watching movies on youtube, uploading their videos on tik tok, in addition facbook is used for making funny posts as well as meeting with different culture people. For intance people from previous watching movies in cinemas and theatres because of they had no such echnology. Therefore the advancement of technology lead to use digital plateforms , by which nowadays individuals do not gives importance to theatres and cinemas for entertainment.

In contrast, many people believe that theatres and cinemas are still essential in daily life for both economically and culturally. because of it can make huge money whenever the new movie is released in theatre or in cinema and increased the econmy of movies idustries and it is also seems culturally in diferent coutries or in different cities. As an example, looking to India which is one of the topmost country in number of cinemas and theatres. whenever new movie or film is released is theatre boost the economy of film industries as well as country economy. Furtermore it is seems to be a culture in India, Pakisan and bangladesh etc. Therefore for improving the economy cinemas and theatre still important.

In conclusion, some people think enhancing the economy of state and industrial site. Altough in my opinion, digital technologies are highly used for entertainment compared to cinemas and theatres.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address both views and state a preference for online entertainment, while the body paragraphs give relevant points about digital access and the economic and cultural role of cinemas. However, the position is not consistently clear: the opening says there is “no acquired” need for theatres, while the conclusion mainly repeats that digital technologies are widely used rather than directly weighing the two views. The supporting ideas are also limited and under-developed. For example, the India example asserts that cinema boosts the economy and is part of the culture, but does not explain how or provide a specific illustration. Develop each side with clearer reasoning and make your own judgement explicit in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion. Transitions such as “In contrast” help signal the shift between positions, and examples are placed alongside the relevant points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly where several unrelated uses of social media are listed before the point about cinemas. Linking phrases such as “Therefore” are repeated and sometimes introduce a conclusion that does not clearly follow from the preceding detail. The final paragraph is also too brief to bring the discussion together or clarify your position. Organise each body paragraph around one main claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving on.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital technology,” “vital role,” “economically,” and “culturally.” These choices show an effort to discuss both the financial and social dimensions of entertainment. However, the range is limited by repeated words such as “important,” “people,” and “entertainment,” and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make meaning less clear. For instance, “no acquired of theaters” does not express the intended idea, and “increased the economy of movies industries” is not a natural way to describe economic benefits. Spelling errors such as “developement,” “plateforms,” and “econmy” are also noticeable. Build a bank of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and word forms during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You try to use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “whereas,” “because,” and “which.” This gives the response some structural variety, but complex sentences are often faulty and errors occur frequently enough to make parts difficult to read. For example, “all the people watch entertainment they want can watch” has an unclear clause structure, while “some people says” and “individuals do not gives” show subject–verb agreement problems. Articles, sentence boundaries, and capitalization are also inconsistent, as in “because of it can make” and the lowercase “i.” Aim first for clear, complete sentences; then practise combining ideas with accurate subordinate clauses and checking agreement, articles, and punctuation.
