Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

You address both sides of the discussion and state a clear preference: cinemas and theatres remain important and digital entertainment cannot replace them. The personal example about going to the cinema with your grandfather supports the cultural and emotional value of shared experiences. You also mention economic benefits through revenue and taxes. However, the case for online entertainment is less fully explained: subscription costs and social isolation are raised, but the advantages of convenience and choice are not explored. Some claims, such as the industry helping a country grow culturally, need clearer explanation or a specific example. Develop each main point with a reason and supporting detail so the discussion is more balanced and convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs, your opinion, and a conclusion. Signposts such as “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “On the conclusion” help readers follow the overall direction. The main ideas are generally grouped by viewpoint, and the personal anecdote is placed in the paragraph about the value of cinemas. However, some links between ideas are abrupt, particularly where the discussion moves from the personal memory to economic benefits. The final opinion paragraph also combines several points in one long sentence, making their relationships less clear. Use clearer sentence boundaries and connect each supporting point explicitly to the paragraph’s main idea; vary linking expressions rather than relying mainly on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “digital era,” “subscription fees,” “social gathering,” “revenue,” and “culturally and economically.” These choices make your main subject and position understandable. However, the range and control are limited, and several inaccurate or misspelled forms distract the reader, such as “prespectives,” “experenice,” “significiant,” and “subsititude.” Some combinations are also unnatural, including “lifetime time experience” and “boost the country economically.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. Replacing repeated general terms such as “entertainment” and “important” with context-specific alternatives would also make the discussion more flexible and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a contrast between online viewing and cinema attendance and a sentence giving a personal example. The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur in several places. For example, “Some people believes” should use a plural verb, while “cinemas and theater gives” needs a plural subject and matching verb. In “i went cinema … to watched,” the article and verb form are incorrect. Punctuation and capitalisation also make some sentence boundaries difficult to identify, especially in the final opinion paragraph. Practise building accurate complex sentences, then proofread for subject–verb agreement, articles, verb patterns, and full stops.
