Student answer (Band 4.5)

First and foremost, many people say that in the digital age, theatres and cinemas are no longer important as people can watch all the entertainment they want online all the movies or films. Before a years, approximately people are prefer to theatres and cinemas hall for entertaintments and watching movies or enjoying the moment. However, people only want online plattform they are watching any movies or films in home not prefer to go theatres or cinemas hall. Therefore, many plattform that people can watch movies and nowadays watching movies in Youtube their are so many plattform ott to watch films. For example, Netflix, Amazon prime video, Jio hotstar, Disney, Mx player, Zee5 and HBO max etc. Moreover, people can pay for this plattform like monthly subscriptions for all ott. Although, all people want to stay home or watch movies no any crowed, noise they ca relax watch films because in theatres or cinemas you have to pay for movie and you can only watch one movie and their ticket price is really highest cost maximum five hundred to eight hundred it's a massive amount that's why people buy a subscription at home and they watch full month of movies any kinds of movie you can watch. I believe that their monthly subscription is not too high it's been only $5 to $10 in a month. On the other hand, other argue that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. Because they are argue for theatres not for cultural they have no any reason to argue they make only crowd or noise and cheerful and sometimes they also make uncomfortable for girls. Last but not least, i have an experience in this theatres or cinemas i was also gone in the theatres for the entertaintment but now i realised that if i pay five hundred to eight hundred than why i don't buy a subscription for one month.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response mainly explains why viewers may prefer online platforms, giving relevant examples such as Netflix and Amazon Prime and comparing subscription costs with cinema tickets. It also states a personal preference through the final experience. However, the task asks for both views, and the opposing view—that theatres and cinemas remain economically and culturally important—is not meaningfully explained. The claim that supporters have “no any reason” is unsupported and does not discuss cultural or economic value. The position is therefore only partly developed, and the response addresses the task minimally in places. To improve, explain specific benefits such as employment and revenue, or shared cultural experiences, then give a clear, reasoned opinion that weighs both sides.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response, moving from online viewing to the opposing view and then to personal experience. Connectors such as “However,” “Moreover,” and “On the other hand” signal some relationships between ideas. Nevertheless, the ideas are not arranged coherently throughout: the first section repeats the preference for home viewing, while the opposing argument is introduced but not developed. Several sentences run together, making it difficult to see where one point ends and another begins. Paragraphing is also absent, so the shift between the two views is not clearly marked. Use separate paragraphs for each view and a conclusion, and build each paragraph around one main point supported by a clear explanation or example.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The response uses a basic but relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “monthly subscriptions,” “ticket price,” “crowd,” and “cultural.” Naming streaming services also makes the examples concrete. However, vocabulary is repetitive, especially “movies or films,” “watch,” and “platform,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “all the entertainment they want online all the movies” and “maximum five hundred to eight hundred.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “entertaintments,” “plattform,” and “crowed,” also reduce clarity. Aim for more precise expressions and check spelling: for example, describe cinema tickets as “costing between 500 and 800,” and use “streaming services” rather than repeating “platform.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts some longer sentences and uses basic linking clauses, for example, “Although, all people want to stay home…” and “because in theatres or cinemas you have to pay…”. However, sentence structures are very limited overall, and frequent errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “people are prefer,” “Before a years,” and “I was also gone,” which show problems with verb forms and tense. Articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries are also unreliable, as in “they are argue” and the long sentence beginning “Although, all people want to stay home.” Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine related ideas using controlled clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms, articles, and punctuation when editing.
