Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address both sides of the discussion and give a clear overall preference: online viewing is convenient, but cinemas and theatres remain important. Relevant points include affordable home viewing and the cultural and employment roles of venues. However, the discussion is only partly developed. The online paragraph focuses on cost and choice, while the claim that venues spread culture and support the economy is asserted rather than explained. The example about America and India creating jobs is unclear and does not show how this happens. To strengthen the response, explain each main point with a specific cause-and-effect link or a more precise example, and make your position explicit earlier.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph about online entertainment, a contrasting paragraph about venues, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help signal the main stages. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, and some connections are mechanical or unclear. For example, “For example America and India create last year several job opportunity” does not clearly connect the example to the preceding point. The opening sentence also combines several ideas without a clear sequence. Use one central point per paragraph, arrange supporting explanation and examples in a clear order, and use pronouns and linking phrases only when their references are unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “employment opportunity,” “traditional,” “economy,” and “wide range,” so the reader can identify the main subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the response awkward or unclear. Examples include “online plate form,” “free of coast,” “playa,” and “provide best way to enjoya.” Repetition of “movies,” “cinemas,” and “theaters” also limits variety. Aim to learn accurate phrases as complete units, such as “stream films,” “create jobs,” and “preserve cultural traditions,” and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you express the economic and cultural arguments clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including clauses with “because” and “which,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently and sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For instance, “It is also play a crucial role” needs a correctly formed verb, while “most people watching the movies online” lacks a finite verb. The opening sentence joins several clauses with unclear punctuation, and “they provide best way” is missing an article. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check that each sentence has a clear subject and verb, and review articles and singular/plural agreement.
