Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people argue that in the modern era, theatres and cinemas are no longer valued then in past, as people can have everything digitally available, they can get the entertainment from online. Where others believe that theatres and cinemas are still important both economically and culturally. I believe that in current era, it's people choice to choose the platform they like to watch entertainment. I personally love to watch entertainment online at OTT platforms or youtube.
In the current digital age, people can find all kind of entertainment stuff on internet and they can enjoy anywhere and without paying. It's quiet convenient nowadays to find out the sites where people can find movies freely. People can share the movies with their friends easily. Social media like Instagram, Youtube and Facebook has introduced the new method of entertainment as people can watch things in a shorter way. But internet is also moving towards the paying technique, where people have to pay to watch movies. So economically it is not as profitable than theatres and cinemas. Also culture wise, people nowadays have their own phone, so they prefer to watch mostly alone.
There are some people who love to watch with their friends, family and collegues. People who love to watch in theatres, as they think that theatres and cinemas gives the actual fun and entertainment.
In conclusion, i think it's personal prefer to get entertainment from any platform they like. People has both options so they can avail whatever they like.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You give a clear personal preference for online entertainment, and you mention reasons relevant to the digital-age view, including convenience, free access and social media. You also acknowledge the opposing view by noting that some people enjoy watching with friends and family and value the cinema experience. However, the discussion is only partial: the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas is not explained in enough detail, and the opposing view receives very little development. Your opinion that it is a matter of personal choice does not fully resolve the question of whether these venues remain important. The response is 239 words, so it is 11 words below the required minimum; the 11 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop both views with specific examples and a more decisive conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The response has a basic overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph about online entertainment, a brief paragraph about cinema audiences, and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation, and phrases such as “In conclusion” signal the ending. However, progression between ideas is uneven. The opening shifts abruptly from the two views to your personal preference, while the paragraph about online access moves from free movies to social media and then to payment without clearly linking these points. The opposing view is placed in a very short paragraph and is not developed into a balanced discussion. Some linking is also awkward, as in “Where others believe.” Group related points into fuller paragraphs and use clear transitions to show how each reason supports the relevant view.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “digital age,” “entertainment,” “economically,” “culturally,” and “platform.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “paying technique” and “actual fun and entertainment,” though these are not natural or precise in context. Several word choices and collocations are noticeably inaccurate, including “no longer valued then in past,” “all kind of entertainment stuff,” and “personal prefer.” These sometimes make the message less clear or less formal. Aim for more accurate, natural phrases such as “less popular than in the past,” “a wide range of entertainment,” and “personal preference.” Vary repeated words such as “people,” “watch,” and “entertainment” where possible.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt a mixture of simple sentences and longer structures, including clauses with “as,” “where,” and “so,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence construction and basic grammar. For example, “Where others believe” is a fragment, “theatres and cinemas gives” has subject–verb disagreement, and “People has both options” also has incorrect agreement. There are problems with articles and plurals in “all kind of entertainment stuff,” as well as sentence boundaries in the opening, where two independent ideas are joined with a comma. Practise building accurate complex sentences and checking agreement, articles, and punctuation; this will make your arguments easier to follow.
