Student answer (Band 5.5)

People have different opinions about the significance of cinemas, theatres, and digital age. While certain individual think that there is no need of these places anymore due to the fact that those amusements can be seen online, I believe that Cinemas and Theatres are most valuable in the country for its diverse culture and to gain benefit from them by governments economoically.

On the one hand, some of the residents argue that they do not contain any improtance now as compared to earlier years because people prefer to watch these shows and films via online rather than wasting their money on those places. In addition, they perceive that the price of cinemas' are being quite increased, and managing the budget for such expenses is pretty challenging. This is the clear example that older ones were used to watch new movies in cinemas and theatres due to their traditional hobbies to entertain themselve; they are now finding it difficult to manage the great amount of prices of cinemas' tickets.

On the other hand, i side with the point of view that Stage shows and Movie auditoriums plays a critical role in order to praise the cultural value and to boost the economy of country as well. For instance, in Europe most of the people spend their weekend and weekdays nights in cinema along with their family in order to know how their children about the culture and as a result they also benefit the country financially by buying its tickets.

In conclusion, visiting cinemas and theatres are still most important at present time as compared to previous years. Although, these amusement places are pretty expensive to go there, its role in presenting cultures and boosting economy can never be neglected. If the spectators who can afford the expenses of these amusement places continue to fresh themselves in weekends, the country will grow economically.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You address both views and state your position: the opening says online entertainment makes venues seem unnecessary, while you support cinemas and theatres for cultural and economic reasons. The response also gives relevant points about ticket costs and family visits. However, the discussion is uneven and the supporting ideas are not fully explained. The first view mainly repeats that online viewing is preferred and tickets are expensive, without exploring other reasons people choose online entertainment. The example about Europe is also unclear: it does not show specifically how cinema visits teach children about culture or how this benefits the wider economy. Develop each side with a clear explanation and a more precise example, while keeping your opinion consistent.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for the two views, and a conclusion. The signposts “On the one hand,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main stages. Overall, the ideas are arranged coherently, but connections within paragraphs are sometimes mechanical or unclear. For example, “This is the clear example” does not clearly link the point about ticket prices to the claim about older people, and the Europe example combines family learning and economic benefit without showing the relationship between them. Use more precise referencing and explain how each example supports its point. The conclusion also repeats the opinion rather than drawing together the two sides of the discussion.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “significance,” “cultural value,” “boost the economy,” and “financially,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several choices are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “amusements,” “praise the cultural value,” “fresh themselves,” and “great amount of prices.” Spelling errors such as “improtance,” “economoically,” and “themselve” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural collocations and check word forms and spelling; for instance, describe venues as “cultural institutions” and say that audiences “enjoy entertainment” rather than “fresh themselves.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “While” and a conditional sentence in the conclusion. However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction recur and sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. For example, “certain individual think” needs plural agreement, “Movie auditoriums plays” has a subject–verb mismatch, and “theatres are still most important” is missing an article or a suitable superlative construction. The sentence beginning “in order to know how their children about the culture” is structurally incomplete. Work on checking each sentence’s subject and verb, and make sure subordinate clauses contain a complete, grammatical idea. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentences easier to read.
