Student answer (Band 5.5)
Some people believe that theatres and cinemas are no more essential as in this advanced world people can watch whatever they want through internet whereas other people argue that cinemas and theatres are still significant both economically and culturally. As far as I am concerned, I agree with those people who are not in favour of theatres in this digital era. Meanwhile both views will be discussed here.
On one hand, some people feel that theatres are important as also it have some benefits. For instance, theatres usually give a chance of being get together and allow family or friends to watch movie together with having lots of fun which creates a great feeling of warmth and joy especially for those who remain busy for a whole week.
On the other hand, as i feel that theatres are no more important for this new generation is that because everybody has internet now a days which they use anytime for lots of purposes like entertainment purpose. Mobile phones, laptop, tabs etc are great sources of entertainment. Moreover every new launched movie can be easily seen on netflix. In addition, such meaningful advantage is that it is time saving. Everybody is busy now a days so they have not much time to go to theatres, book tickets and manage time for it hence, an individual can watch movie by their own choise rather than depending on theatre list. Also it is budget friendly while going on theatres for watching specific movie might be costly sometimes.
In conclusion, although there are benefits of theatres but I feel that the choise of no longer need of theatres overweigh than the choise of having them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a clear overall preference for online entertainment, and the response is relevant to the topic. However, the task asks you to discuss both views, and the case for theatres and cinemas is only briefly developed: you mention socialising and enjoying a film with family or friends, but do not address their economic or wider cultural importance. The opposing view is supported with several practical points, including convenience, time and cost, although these are mostly asserted rather than illustrated with specific examples. Your conclusion repeats your preference, but the phrase “the choice of no longer need of theatres” makes the position difficult to interpret. Develop both sides more evenly and state your opinion precisely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, paragraphs beginning “On one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the two positions. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes weak. The first body paragraph contains only one main point, while the second strings together several reasons with “Moreover,” “In addition,” and “Also,” without explaining how they relate or prioritising them. Some linking is awkward or repetitive, and the opening says both views “will be discussed here,” which adds little. Use clearer topic sentences, develop each main idea before moving on, and make references and transitions more natural to create a stronger overall line of argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “entertainment,” “time saving,” “budget friendly,” and “sources of entertainment.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “significant both economically and culturally.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations sound unnatural, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “no more essential,” “being get together,” “new launched movie,” and “the choice of no longer need of theatres.” Spelling and written forms also need attention, including “choise” and “now a days.” Build a more precise range for discussing cultural and economic value, and check collocations and spelling during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, using clauses with “as,” “which,” and “while,” and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and complex constructions are often faulty. For example, “theatres usually give a chance of being get together” has an incorrect verb construction, while “as i feel that theatres are no more important … is that because” creates an incomplete, tangled sentence. There are also agreement and article problems in “it have some benefits,” as well as inconsistent capitalisation and punctuation. Practise building accurate sentences around one main clause, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammatical relationship is clear.
