Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the recent years, we all live in the digital age where everything is accessible on the internet especially when it comes to movies and theaters. That is why some people belive that theaters and cinemas are no longer important while others argue that these two are still important both economivcally and culturally. From my own perspective, theaters and cinemas lost their charm and their part as a way of entertainment as the internet really provide a wide range of entertainment ways.
It is true that theaters and cinemas are still important in many countries because of their role economically and culturally. Many countries still rely on them as a way of advertising for their culture especially bollywood that pictures their country by their movies that are played in different cinemas around the word which also improve the econmic of the country. Another point, that some people still have passion to visit theaters and cinemas as it is a pleasure experience .
However, the new digital age makes it so hard beacause of the benifint it provides especially when it comes to entertainment. For those who love watching movies and theaters, it is so eays to find any kind of movies and theaters on internet withount the need to pay to watch them. Aside from movies there is a lot of way to entertaint by using the internet , such as playing online with your friends, scrolling social media, and even learning new intresting things for people who love discovering new things and this is so easy to reach and free to use.
In conclusion, cinemas and theaters played an important role through the previous year in entertaining people and in growing the ecnomic and culture side of most countries nevertheless it is now the age of digital developement that outweigh them in every field. This is why i would argue that theaters and cinemas are no longer important and the new technology development will replace them in the coming years.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You discuss both views and make your own position clear: you acknowledge the economic and cultural role of cinemas, then argue that online entertainment is replacing them. The Bollywood example gives the cultural point some relevant support, and you mention the pleasure of visiting a cinema. However, the two sides are not developed equally. The case for online entertainment is broader, but claims such as it being free and replacing cinemas “in every field” are asserted rather than explained or supported with a specific example. The economic benefit is also only briefly linked to advertising and national culture. To strengthen the response, explain how cinemas create jobs or revenue, and qualify or support your claims about online access and replacement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph for the continuing importance of cinemas, a contrasting paragraph about digital entertainment, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking expressions such as “However” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the main direction. Some connections within paragraphs are less clear or mechanical, though. “Another point” introduces the cinema experience without showing how it relates to the economic and cultural reasons, while “Aside from movies” shifts to gaming and social media quite abruptly. The conclusion also repeats the introduction’s position rather than drawing together the two sides. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the relationship between each example and its main point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “digital age,” “economically and culturally,” “advertising,” and “social media,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “a wide range of entertainment.” However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “belive,” “economivcally,” “pleasure experience,” and “entertainment ways.” Some wording is also vague or repetitive, particularly repeated references to “important” and “entertainment.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations, and choose more precise terms for the effects you describe, such as cultural representation, employment, or revenue.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a relative clause in “movies that are played in different cinemas” and a contrast introduced by “However.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors affect fluency. For example, “In the recent years” has an incorrect article pattern, “the internet really provide” has subject–verb disagreement, and “makes it so hard beacause” is missing a grammatical link before the reason. There are also punctuation and spacing problems, such as the missing space after “theaters.” Aim to produce more consistently accurate sentences before adding complexity; check articles, agreement, and the structure of clauses with “because” and “as.”
