Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
You introduce both views and give relevant points about online viewing, cinema costs, busy schedules, and the economic value of ticket and food sales. The personal observation about seeing mostly empty seats is also a relevant example. However, the discussion is only partial: the case for online entertainment is explained more than the cultural importance of theatres, which is barely addressed, and the economic point is not developed beyond sales. Your own opinion is not stated clearly; the conclusion says that outings can be enjoyable but does not directly say whether cinemas remain important overall. The response also falls 8 words short of the required 250. Develop both sides with specific reasons and examples, and state your position explicitly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction, a paragraph about online viewing, a contrasting paragraph about cinemas, and a conclusion. Linking words such as “However” and “In conclusion” help signal the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and several ideas are joined without showing how they relate. For example, the paragraph about online viewing moves from modern life to cost, work, study, and then your cinema visit. The second body paragraph begins with the economic argument but shifts awkwardly to “Other side this situations.” Use one clear main idea per paragraph, arrange supporting details in a logical order, and use accurate referencing and transitions rather than relying on a few repeated linkers.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “entertainment,” “economically,” “culturally,” “tickets,” and “business,” so the reader can identify the main topic. However, the range is basic and repetitive, and frequent spelling and word-choice errors sometimes strain understanding. Examples include “cenimas,” “threather,” “threaters,” and “economycally”; repeated forms of “important” and “people” also limit precision. Some combinations are unnatural, such as “online watch movies” and “no sale tickets.” Build a more accurate set of topic phrases and check spelling carefully. More precise wording for the cultural role of live performance and the convenience of streaming would also help you express the two views clearly.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response includes basic contrast and reason structures, such as “because” and “However.” Nevertheless, grammatical errors are frequent and sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “no need for going,” “people can not going,” and “some person argue,” which show problems with verb patterns, agreement, and sentence construction. Articles and sentence boundaries are also unreliable, as in “go for a cinmas with families” and the long sentence beginning “The biggest is reason.” Practise forming complete clauses with a clear subject and verb, and check verb forms, singular/plural agreement, articles, and punctuation. Aim for accurate simple sentences before adding more complex structures.
