Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

The response shows awareness of the two positions: online entertainment is described as accessible, while theatres and cinemas are said to have economic and cultural importance. However, it does not adequately discuss either view or give a clear, developed opinion. The claim that theatres may benefit the government is introduced but not explained, and the example about watching films with family supports only the online side. The response also stops before completing its example and does not provide reasons or relevant examples for the cultural and economic arguments. The required minimum length is not met, leaving the task substantially incomplete. To improve, address both views in separate, developed points and state your own position clearly, supported by specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a basic attempt to introduce contrasting views, using “However” and “while,” and the response begins to move from an opening statement to a point about online platforms. However, the organisation is difficult to follow because the opening is followed by the fragment “in today worlds,” and the final sentence ends after “for example,” without completing the example. Paragraphing and progression are not established, so the reader cannot see a complete line of argument or how the ideas relate. Some linking is present, but it does not yet create a coherent overall response. Use a clear introduction, one paragraph for each view, and a conclusion; connect complete ideas with accurate referencing and transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The response uses some relevant topic vocabulary, including “theatres,” “cinemas,” “social platforms,” “economically,” and “culturally,” so the general subject is identifiable. However, the range is narrow and several spelling errors make the writing less clear, such as “peopel,” “soical,” “actvities,” “belive,” and “benifical.” Some expressions are also imprecise: “watch all the activities” does not clearly convey watching entertainment, and “those entertainment” is not a natural phrase. Build a more accurate range for discussing access, cultural value, employment, and revenue, and check spelling carefully. More precise topic vocabulary would help express the ideas without relying on repeated general terms such as “people” and “important.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a compound sentence to contrast the views, for example, “people can watch … online, while most members of society believe…,” and the basic meaning is generally recoverable. However, control is inconsistent. The opening has a sentence fragment after the full stop (“because people…”), “in today worlds” is incomplete, and the final sentence is left unfinished after “for example.” There are also problems with articles, number, and sentence boundaries, as in “those entertainment” and the lower-case start after a full stop. The short response provides little evidence of a range of sentence structures. Practise writing complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then check articles, plural forms, capitalisation, and punctuation.
