Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You introduce both viewpoints and state your position with “According to my perspective its not important,” so the reader can identify your general response. However, the task is addressed only partially: the online-entertainment view receives some explanation, but the economic and cultural importance of theatres and cinemas is barely discussed. The claim that theatre performances show culture is unfinished, and there is no explanation of economic benefits or a developed example. Your opinion is also not supported with reasons, and the response ends before reaching a conclusion. The response is 185 words, below the required 250. To improve, explain both sides fully, support each main point with a relevant example, and clearly justify your own view.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: the opening introduces the issue, a paragraph develops the online-view argument, and “On the other hand” signals a shift to the opposing view. These features help the reader follow the broad direction. However, progression is limited because the second viewpoint stops after a brief statement, and there is no concluding paragraph to bring the discussion together. Linking phrases such as “initially, to begin with” are repetitive, while several ideas run together without clear sentence boundaries. Develop a separate paragraph for each view and a final paragraph for your opinion. Use a smaller range of linking expressions accurately, and make sure each paragraph advances one connected point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “social media,” “internet,” “film industry,” and “cinema market,” which makes the subject clear. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “important,” “people,” and “want.” Some word choices and collocations are awkward, such as “watch all the favourite things,” “market down dramatically,” and “important for culturally and economically”; these can make the intended meaning less clear. Spelling and word-form errors, including “exampel” and “help ful,” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of expressions for online access, cultural value, and economic impact, and check that words fit naturally together. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the two sides rather than repeat general claims.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both short statements and longer sentences, for example the sentence beginning “Some people think that cinemas and theatres are no longer important because…”. However, the range remains limited, and errors are frequent enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. Examples include “some people says,” “they have not any need,” and “mostly theater play culturally shows,” where subject–verb agreement, sentence construction, and verb patterns are not controlled. Missing or misplaced punctuation also causes run-on sentences, as in the opening paragraph. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with because, while, and although. Check agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries during proofreading so that longer ideas remain clear.
