The diagram below shows how one type of desert, known as a rain-shadow desert, is formed.
Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
The formation of rain-shadow deserts

The given diagram illustrates the formation of a desert, called a rain shadow desert. Overall, it is clear that, the process consists of seven major stages, beginning from the wind approaching the coast and ending with the formation of a rain shadow desert.
Initially, the winds from sea level approach the coastal area and then pushed upward up toward the mountains. Later, moist air rises and cools, with the formation of cluster of clouds. Now, moisture condenses and rain fall occurs .This five stages of desert formation occurs on the windward side of the mountains.
After that, dry air continues to accumulate over the mountain on the leeward side, which then start moving downward to inland areas. Once dry winds reach inland areas, a rain shadow desert is formed The entire process ends with the formation of rain shadow deserts which is thousands of kilometers away from the coastal zone.
