The diagram below shows how one type of desert, known as a rain-shadow desert, is formed.

The diagram gives the information about the rain-shadow desert, which is a type of desert and how is it formed.
Overall, the diagram shows the process of the formation of the rain shadow-desert with the precise steps of formation of rain along the sea to the mountains.
The mountains are present at the coast of the sea to the inland for thousands of kilometers. First, the wind approaches through the sea to the coast and, pushed upwards from the mountains then moist air rises to the windward side of the mountains and get cools, after that it formed clouds which reaches top of the mountains.
Furthermore, the clouds start to rain on the top of the mountains, and all the moisture become rainfall. After that all the dry air continues to flow through leeward side of the mountains and the dry air winds reaches the inland area and form rain-shadow desert.
