Student answer (Band 6.5)
All kind of university undergraduate fields should include a amount of time spent on abroad study or placement in internship. I concur that the given notion has more fruitful outcomes than its drawbacks. The narrative ahead shall articulate my belief and the contradiction before arriving to a rational conclusion
To commence with, this kind of tiny internship or abroad study enhance students experience and acquire practical knowledge. This is because, pupils should go to various fields or sites and manage workload, and also in different nation students would handle different circumstances. As a result, students would be able to handle kinds of situations and also provide practical knowledge skills. Furthermore, pupils can understand what kind of difficulties they will face in future. This is because, on field they can see the operations of practical field such as operation on oil refineries and on shore rig. Thus, they can be able to control and lead the team in future. For instance, many of colleges make internship compulsory in 5th semester
In contrast, some students can not attend this kind of internship and can not go to abroad college. This is because, they feel bore during practical lecture and feel lonely in abroad. As a result, pupils can not get their on field knowledge and after their placement they have trouble during major error in equipment. For example, many students face difficulty during major problem in work field
To sum up, even though there are several demerits such as pupils get bore and feel lonely in other country. I believe benefits like students acquire practical skills and able to handle difficulties during operation and can get highly paid placement after their internship

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. While you mention practical skills and future career benefits, the arguments are not fully extended with specific, well-reasoned examples. For instance, the mention of 'oil refineries' is a good start, but the explanation of how an internship specifically leads to better performance is vague. To improve, focus on providing more detailed explanations of how these experiences translate into professional competence, rather than simply stating that students will gain skills. The conclusion is present but could be more robust in summarising the main arguments.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organised into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices like 'To commence with', 'Furthermore', and 'In contrast' to signal transitions. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'the contradiction' in the introduction is an awkward choice of word). To reach a higher band, try to vary your linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that directly supports your main position. The progression of ideas is generally logical, but the internal cohesion within paragraphs could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it lacks the precision and variety required for a higher score. You rely on repetitive phrasing such as 'practical knowledge' and 'kind of'. There are also some awkward collocations, such as 'All kind of university undergraduate fields' and 'feel bore'. To improve, focus on using more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. For example, instead of 'feel bore', use 'find the material unengaging' or 'lack motivation'. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated synonyms will help you express your ideas more effectively and naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'this kind of... enhance'), article usage (e.g., 'on abroad study'), and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'arrive to a rational conclusion'). While the meaning is generally clear, these errors are persistent. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammar rules, particularly pluralisation and the correct use of prepositions. Focusing on sentence variety and ensuring that your complex sentences are constructed accurately will help you achieve a higher band score.
