Student answer (Band 7.0)
There is an ongoing debate whether undergraduate courses of universities should sent students abroad for studying or working during studies. I believe, this approach has more advantages, than the disadvantage.
Universities should redesign their undergraduate courses by including a period for international exposure for students, that can be utilized for either studying or doing practical activities related to their field. This positive development will provides them an opportunity to learn from foreign qualified teachers and professionals. It will also allows them to build networks across the boundaries, and helps them to get admission for higher studies as well as jobs, abroad. Additionally, foreign exposure is beneficial for students, either in terms of studying or doing work, as it helps to make them self confident, independent, and professionally groomed.
However, it has some disadvantages, including increase in financial burden on universities, unnecessary competition among students, and unequal distribution of opportunities for the students. But, the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, as aforementioned problems can be addressed. For instance, government should increase the education budget, and provide air-fare, accommodation, and living expense to the students for their stay overseas. In addition, issues related to equal distribution of opportunities, and competition among students can be resolved by making policies transparent and implementing fair and merit-based selection.
In conclusion, all universities should include exchanges program in undergraduate courses to send students abroad for studying and working. Although, it has few drawbacks, but has more advantages. It will not only boost their academic progress, but also aids in their professional development.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The response addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding the benefits of international exposure (networking, professional growth) and the counter-arguments (financial burden, inequality) are relevant. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat superficial. For example, the suggestion that governments should simply increase budgets to solve financial issues is a bit simplistic and lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or elaborate further on the long-term impacts of these policies to demonstrate a more nuanced understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Each paragraph has a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'Additionally', 'However', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and there are minor issues with referencing and flow. For instance, the phrase 'as aforementioned problems' is a bit formal and stiff. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the progression of ideas is generally easy to follow, though the connection between the financial burden and the proposed government solution could be smoother.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task. You use some topic-specific terms like 'international exposure', 'professional development', and 'merit-based selection'. However, the range is somewhat limited, and there are occasional inaccuracies in word choice, such as 'sent students abroad' (should be 'send') and 'across the boundaries' (a more natural collocation would be 'across borders'). While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey your meaning clearly, it lacks the sophistication and precision required for a higher band score. Expanding your repertoire of academic collocations would be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are several recurring grammatical errors. For example, 'This positive development will provides' (subject-verb agreement error) and 'It will also allows' (another agreement error). Additionally, there are minor punctuation and article usage issues throughout the text. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. Focusing on subject-verb agreement and refining your use of modal verbs will help improve your accuracy.
