Student answer (Band 6.5)
There is an ongoing debate about whether it should be compulsory for everyone to attend work placements or get a time-fame to study abroad during their course. Therefore, internship help students to learn practical skills and build confidence whereas there is a probability that students may take time to adjust in the new environment. I firmly believe that there are more pros than the cons that will be discussed in this essay.
The primary benefit for students is learning practical skills and to built confidence in their profession. As attending internships help undergraduate students to learn about practical skills such as how to apply theoretical knowledge in real life. For instance, an IT student learn different types of computer language, but during their work placement, they get a chance to apply those languages in the real life. This results learners to understand theory in a better way. Moreover, the working time increases individuals experience and prepare student for their job. This provide opportunity for the students to work with the professional in the work environment.
However, this may be difficult for some students to adjust in new environment. Therefore, many university students might be moving away from their parents and house for the first time for the sake of internship. Though separation may cause stress and loneliness and may also find hand to manage everything by themselves. For example, students have to maintain balance between personal and professional life where they have to cook, clean and do household chores by themselves. On the other hand, students also have to manage studies and placements. This results to face hard time.
It can be concluded that, placements are very important part of the study before joining job as this helps students to be professional and responsible for their job.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0
The essay addresses all parts of the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The main ideas—practical skill development versus the stress of adjustment—are relevant and supported with examples, such as the IT student scenario. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat repetitive, and the conclusion is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should aim to expand on the 'why' behind your arguments rather than just stating the benefits. For instance, you could elaborate on how the professional network built during an internship impacts long-term career prospects, which would provide more depth to your response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'The primary benefit,' 'Moreover,' and 'However' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical or misused, such as 'Therefore, internship help students' in the introduction, where 'For instance' or 'Specifically' would have been more appropriate. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as 'This results to face hard time,' which lacks a clear subject. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'theoretical knowledge,' 'professional environment,' and 'compulsory.' However, there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'get a time-fame' (likely meaning 'timeframe'), 'built confidence' (should be 'build'), and 'working time increases individuals experience' (should be 'increases an individual's experience'). These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your expression. Focusing on collocations and word forms will help you achieve a higher score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('internship help,' 'student learn') and preposition usage. There are also issues with sentence fragments and awkward phrasing, such as 'This results to face hard time.' While these errors rarely impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent a higher score. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound.
