Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of mandatory study abroad or work placements. However, the development of ideas is limited. While you mention language barriers and accommodation as disadvantages, and professional experience as an advantage, these points are not fully extended or supported with concrete examples. The position is clear, but the overall argument lacks depth and analytical rigor. To improve, ensure that each main point is supported by a clear explanation or a specific example that demonstrates the impact of these policies on students. The conclusion is present but brief and does not effectively synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by awkward phrasing and a lack of clear cohesive devices. While you use transition words like 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion', the internal flow within paragraphs is disjointed. For instance, the transition between discussing language barriers and student motivation in the second paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, the use of referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the subject of certain sentences. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one will significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is generally basic and sometimes repetitive. There are several instances of imprecise word choice, such as 'deployment of student' instead of 'placement of students' and 'grinding process' to describe a challenging experience. Some phrases are also non-standard, such as 'make student more clear' and 'leads to more awake about the situation'. While the vocabulary is sufficient to convey the general meaning, it lacks the precision and range required for a higher band score. You should focus on learning collocations and using more academic vocabulary to express complex ideas more accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement ('this changes... leads to'), article usage ('The Education is backbone'), and sentence structure (many sentences are run-on or fragmented). For example, 'some changes make positive impact on undergraduate it a proposal to spent in time foreign' is grammatically incoherent. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are often faulty, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of prepositions before attempting more complex grammatical forms.
