Student answer (Band 6.0)
Undergraduate college programmes should involve a period to study overseas or a time for a job placement. I the belive its benefits certainly outweighs its drawbacks. Students who engage in such oversea program get to mingle with collegues at international schools, whereby such exposes them to recent ideas and knowledges to move innovation in their various endevours whereas some people fear that the drawback of expenses on embarking on such courses oversea.
One reason why some people say the disadvantages outweigh its advantages is because of the monetary involvement, For example, In country like Nigeria, School fees charges are enormously expensive and not all parents could afford to pay to travel abroad. therefore, many people break their bank while trying to send their children to those schools.
One major advantage of universities involving studying overseas or having their students do a job placement is because, international cohension with other students develop the faculty in tudents to think outside the box, whereby innovating their previously conceived ideas and bring innovation in different aspects as well as, its a means for knowledge on how things are done differently in other countries. For instance, Oxford Universities Students, during the summer of every year, school authority posts each of them to differents institution in various part of the world to continue their education outline and some even to do a part-time job, This gives them exposure to cultures or economy of other nationalities.
In conclusion, I am of the opinion that the benefits of universities involving in a period for students to study overseas or do a part-time outweighs it drawback, because students by undergoing a course abroad gets the exposure to cultures of other nationalities and broaden their knowledges.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. While the benefits are discussed, the explanation of the disadvantages is limited to a brief mention of financial costs, which is not fully explored. The example regarding Oxford University is a positive addition, but the overall argument lacks depth and nuance. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that both sides of the argument are balanced and supported with more detailed, logical reasoning rather than relying on general statements.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the repetitive use of 'whereby' and 'as well as'. Some transitions between sentences are abrupt, and the logical flow within paragraphs could be smoother. For instance, the transition from the financial disadvantage to the benefits is a bit sudden. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would significantly enhance the overall coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting to use academic terms like 'international cohesion' and 'endeavours'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and collocation errors, such as 'monetary involvement' instead of 'financial burden' or 'school fees charges' instead of 'tuition fees'. Additionally, there are minor spelling errors like 'knowledges' (knowledge is an uncountable noun) and 'tudents'. To improve, focus on using vocabulary in more natural collocations and ensure you are using academic terminology accurately.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'benefits certainly outweighs'), incorrect article usage, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'universities involving in a period'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices and run-on sentences. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on sentence boundary control and basic subject-verb agreement would be highly beneficial.
