Student answer (Band 6.0)

Many argue that undergraduate courses should have options to study in foreign countries or doing jobs related to the course. Even though there are certain disadvantages regarding this policy; I believe the advantages will be more superior as studying in other countries or having jobs during studies grants students to be experienced in their fields and exposes them to different education systems.

Firstly, having a job as an undergraduate student can have a significant impact on a student's learning process as it helps them to be more skilled at their respected studies. In this modern era most of the companies usually search for candidates with more experiences; as a result, the candidate with the most experience gets hired and eventually gets better job opportunity. A classic example would be, many freshers looking for work opportunities in China usually needs to show relative work experience of a certain period of time. Even though it can be argued that having a job while studying can hamper studies of a pioneer but the advantage of this is immense.

Secondly, the opportunity to study in overseas as a part of undergraduate study is effective in a student's life as it makes them explore various education systems. Each universities alumni has distinct way to teaching and mindset, so staying in an same environment cannot give verity to the learners to explore different education systems. There are certain restrictions about the foreign education as well like the visa processing might be over-whelming for students or the \requirement of proper fundings might be a problem as well. For instance, the education government of Bangladesh has now granted students the opportunity to study in few English speaking countries resulting in solving the complications of visa or fundings.

In conclusion, there are numerous disadvantages of undergraduate study having certain jobs options or courses in foreign countries but I think, the advantages like being skilled and exploring different learning systems can certainly be more noteworthy.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the prompt, providing a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, such as gaining practical experience and exposure to diverse educational systems. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, the example regarding China is a bit vague, and the discussion on the disadvantages is quite brief. To reach a higher band, you should ensure that the counter-arguments are explored with the same depth as your main arguments, and provide more specific, well-integrated examples to support your claims throughout the essay.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, some transitions are slightly mechanical, and there are instances where referencing is a bit unclear, such as 'the education government of Bangladesh' which feels slightly disconnected from the broader argument. Improving the flow between sentences and using a wider variety of linking words would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'undergraduate', 'significant impact', and 'noteworthy'. However, there are some inaccuracies in word choice and collocation that prevent a higher score. For example, 'more superior' is redundant (superior is already a comparative), 'respected studies' should be 'respective studies', and 'verity' is used incorrectly in place of 'variety'. Additionally, 'pioneer' is used in a context that does not fit the intended meaning of a student. Focusing on precise word choice and common collocations will help improve your lexical range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally distract the reader. Examples include 'doing jobs' instead of 'undertaking work placements', 'Each universities alumni has' (should be 'Each university's alumni have'), and 'staying in an same environment'. There are also issues with article usage and subject-verb agreement. To improve, focus on proofreading for basic grammatical accuracy and try to incorporate more complex sentence structures with greater precision to demonstrate better control.
