Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, as it is only 133 words long. This significantly impacts the development of the argument. While you have stated a position, the ideas are underdeveloped and the essay is incomplete, lacking a concluding paragraph and a full discussion of the benefits. To reach a higher band, you must expand on your points with specific examples and ensure the essay is of sufficient length to allow for a full exploration of the prompt.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into two short paragraphs, but the lack of a conclusion and the brevity of the response hinder the overall progression of ideas. You use some cohesive devices like 'In addition' and 'For instance', but the flow is interrupted by the incomplete nature of the text. To improve, focus on using a wider range of linking words to connect your ideas more fluidly and ensure each paragraph has a clear topic sentence followed by supporting evidence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and contains several spelling errors, such as 'recuirments' (requirements), 'burdn' (burden), 'adequt' (adequate), and 'homesiccks' (homesick). The range of vocabulary is basic and repetitive. To improve, you should focus on learning the correct spelling of common academic terms and attempt to use more precise vocabulary related to the topic of education and international experience, such as 'financial constraints' instead of 'financial difficulties'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('students who has not adequt fund') and incorrect sentence structures ('It is often argue that...'). The use of articles and prepositions is also inconsistent. While there is an attempt at complex sentences, the high frequency of errors makes the text difficult to follow at times. You should focus on mastering basic sentence construction, particularly verb forms and pluralization, before attempting more complex structures.
