Student answer (Band 6.0)

In today's contemporary world, universities play crucial role in student's life for further study guidance or entering in the corporate working sectors. A statement emerged out in today's world that academics authorities should implement time for foriegn nations or preparation for job placements. I personally consider this statement will significantly impact positively and will dominate the drawbacks about it. In the upcoming paragraph, the factors will be justified with relevant examples.

One of the major outcome is that students who are planning for abroad studies will get proper guidance and possibilities for moving the other nations. To explain, there are several countries who welcome student from other nations for study purpose as a semester exchange program and facilitates higher valuable degree and those universities have connection with the academic sector's faculties for such communication. Hence, universities can provide wider ways of study in other countries. Additionally, it will help students financially also. For example, students get consultation from certain agencies and loose a huge amount of money as fees of consulting or else they might get exploited. As a result, it will be more beneficial for students to have such period of time at universities.

Considering the work placement perspective, it give more chances to students getting placed at higher level of companies and it directly promotes the popularity of universities all over the country. To elaborate, professors and authorities have vast network with the companies which can acquire the process of placement or interview and it becomes familier to the students if such information are provided to them in advance. Another major role is that refrrance also contributes in the placement. For instance, brilliant students gets offer to work with multi-national companies and get trained for future career opportunities.

In contrast, such time will be wasted if students want to switch their domain. To explain, a student who has been studying in computer science course wanted to adapt business in future life will not get enough help from such activities. therefore, they have to get other consultation or certification course.

In conclusion, although it gives drawbacks that domain changing students will waste those time instead of obtaining other consultation or certificates the merits will overpower them such as correct and proper guidance of aboard studies along with the possibility of semester exchange and get help for placement process with referance opportunities in higher levels companies.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The ideas are relevant, particularly regarding study abroad and work placements. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding financial benefits of study abroad is slightly confusing, as it is unclear how university-mandated programs directly prevent exploitation by agencies. The counter-argument regarding domain switching is present but could be more robustly explored. Overall, the response covers all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis is limited by some vague explanations and occasional lack of logical flow in the supporting arguments.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central topic. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'In contrast', 'Additionally', and 'To elaborate', though some transitions feel mechanical or slightly forced. The progression of ideas is generally clear, but there are instances where the connection between sentences is weak, such as the transition between the financial benefits of study abroad and the role of agencies. Referencing is generally clear, though some phrasing, such as 'such information', is slightly awkward. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate the different aspects of the argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their ideas clearly. There is an attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'semester exchange program', 'corporate working sectors', and 'multi-national companies'. However, there are several instances of imprecise word choice and minor errors, such as 'loose a huge amount of money' (lose), 'familier' (familiar), and 'refrrance' (reference). While these errors do not impede communication, they indicate a lack of precision. A wider range of sophisticated, academic vocabulary would be required to reach a higher band score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the student attempts complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('professors and authorities have vast network', 'brilliant students gets offer') and article usage errors ('play crucial role', 'in today's contemporary world'). Punctuation is generally functional, but there are some awkward phrasings that affect the flow. The errors are noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding the main points. To improve, the student should focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent article usage.
