Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state a position, the arguments remain under-developed and lack sufficient depth. For instance, the discussion on CRISPR is a specific example but is not effectively linked back to the broader argument about mandatory study abroad or work placements. The conclusion is entirely missing, which prevents a clear summary of your position. To improve, ensure you fully explore both the advantages and disadvantages as requested by the prompt and provide a balanced, well-supported argument that meets the length requirement.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is often hindered by awkward phrasing and unclear transitions. While you use cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'Moreover', their usage is sometimes mechanical or does not accurately reflect the relationship between ideas. For example, the transition into the second paragraph is abrupt. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'Having several having knowledge regardless where various university professor are lacking', which makes the connection between ideas difficult to follow. Improving the flow between sentences and ensuring each paragraph has a clear topic sentence would enhance coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and often imprecise. There are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'advance acknowledgement' instead of 'advanced knowledge' and 'personals growth' instead of 'personal growth'. The phrase 'in the abroad countries' is also non-standard. While you attempt to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'CRISPR' and 'bioinformatics', the surrounding context is often grammatically or lexically flawed, which limits the effectiveness of these terms. To reach a higher band, focus on using collocations correctly and expanding your range of academic vocabulary to express complex ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'there are professors which have'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'which are not been taught'), and awkward sentence structures (e.g., 'can help individual are growth in their life'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with the spacing around commas. While there is an attempt to use complex sentences, these are often faulty. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like articles, pluralization, and verb tense consistency.
