Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0
The response is significantly under the required 250-word minimum, which severely limits your ability to develop your ideas. You have not addressed the prompt fully; the essay stops abruptly after only 93 words. While you attempt to introduce the topic, you fail to provide a clear position or support your arguments with relevant examples. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words and provide a balanced discussion that explores both the advantages and disadvantages of the proposal, as required by the task instructions.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks a logical structure due to its incomplete nature. While you use basic cohesive devices like 'Overall' and 'however', the progression of ideas is interrupted by the premature ending. Paragraphing is present, but the content within the paragraphs is underdeveloped and repetitive. To achieve a higher score, you need to organize your essay into a clear introduction, body paragraphs with distinct main ideas, and a conclusion, ensuring that your sentences flow logically from one to the next using a variety of linking words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
Your vocabulary is quite limited and repetitive. Phrases like 'learn courses' and 'huge time' are not natural collocations in an academic context. There are also errors in word choice, such as 'not in a doing of a work placement', which makes the meaning unclear. To improve, you should focus on learning topic-specific vocabulary related to education and professional development. Try to use more precise adjectives and verbs to express your ideas clearly rather than relying on basic, informal language.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The response contains frequent grammatical errors that hinder communication. Examples include 'doing in a work placement' (incorrect verb form) and 'ehnace their' (incomplete sentence and spelling error). Your sentence structures are simple and often lack grammatical accuracy. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of gerunds. You should also practice proofreading your work to catch simple spelling mistakes and ensure that every sentence is complete and grammatically sound.
