Student answer (Band 5.0)

All university undergraduate courses should make a period of time spent studying or doing a work placement for students. Now a days degrees and skills both are important if a student have a degree of software management and don't have better experience for doing their job well. For this cause universities gave a chance for student they work in their own companies for experience or going to abroad. In my opinion Advantages are outweigh on disadvantages I explain both views and also I gave my opinion in last.

If university undergraduate courses should include a time for students spent their time for studying abroad or doing a work placement their are several benefits of this situation First is that students gain practical experience working in a real company. because skills and experience both are important. also they have learn how to communicate collogues and how to solve problems for instance a student of business management working in a company for six month and he thought how to deal with costumers and how to get profit. the second advantage of studying abroad is that students develop new skills first skill they gets is communication with thousand types of peoples For example a student who are studying in UK and talk with their fellows he gets more confidence to speak in English.

Their are also several disadvantages First one is Money if university allows to student work in abroad student contribution in tickets accommodation in abroad and clothing also so a middle class boy can not afford this expenses. And second one is that some student have not experience to living in abroad they get difficulties in earn money and meet their expenses with university. For instance if a student work and study in UK they get more hard working in their work because the university fees are more higher then our country and main cause is that they do not focus in their studies and their goal is not achieve.

In my opinion advantages are outweigh on disadvantages because many students have a dream to study in abroad in other hand the study of other countries are better then our country and we get both money and qualification. also students can gain work experience and develop their new skills.

In conclusion, international study and work experience can be very useful for university students. I believe that the benefits of these opportunities are greater than the drawbacks.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. While you mention benefits like practical experience and communication skills, the explanation remains repetitive. The disadvantages section is also slightly underdeveloped, focusing heavily on financial constraints without exploring other potential drawbacks like cultural adjustment or academic disruption. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more nuanced arguments and ensure that your examples are more specific and logically connected to the main points. The introduction and conclusion are present, but the overall structure of the argument could be more sophisticated.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, phrases like 'For this cause' and 'in other hand' are used incorrectly, which disrupts the flow of ideas. Additionally, the referencing is sometimes unclear, making it difficult to track the subject of certain sentences. While there is an attempt to use transition words, they are often placed awkwardly. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus would significantly improve the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally limited and repetitive. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'better', and 'important' throughout the essay. There are also several instances of incorrect word choice and collocation, such as 'advantages are outweigh on disadvantages' (should be 'outweigh the disadvantages') and 'thousand types of peoples' (should be 'diverse groups of people'). While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision and the frequent errors in word formation and collocation limit your score. To improve, focus on learning collocations and using more academic vocabulary appropriate for an IELTS essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'a student have', 'student work'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are run-on or fragmented, such as 'For this cause universities gave a chance for student they work in their own companies'. The range of structures is limited, with few complex sentences used correctly. To improve, you need to focus on basic sentence construction, verb tenses, and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound rather than just long and convoluted.
