Student answer (Band 6.0)

In recent years, debate on whether all university undergraduate courses included work practice or spent some time overseas for obtaine the international experience has become one for the most discussed topic in modern society. I strongly believe that higher education systme should included work placement for their curriculum and this advantages exceed the disadvantages, and it will beneficial for the students to strong career development.

To begin with, modern university system has allowed sutudent to get the work experience while they are studing their major subjects in the university. This allows them to uderstand how theoretical subjects use in paractical way. For instance, medicine and commerce streams have much more theoretical aspects which does not understand untile they receive the practical exposure how the fundamentals are working. Therefore, most of the universities offere in their final year practica training or go to overseas to get some work related knowledge.

On the other hand, disadvatages can be seen in many subjects they can not get the work placement such as art steams. Therefore they have to stick with the theoritical areas teaching in the university. Futheremore, finding a work placement is not easy for all the students due to the limitaion of the opportunities. Meanwhile, studying aboad not possible for all the students due to the high cost and expenses.

In conclusion, Although all university undergraduate courses can not implement work pacement due to lack of opportunities, many universities has intitated this methods, and it advantages outweigh the disadvatages mainly students can learn how to use the theoretical areas, and which leads to find the job opportunities as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention the benefits of practical exposure for fields like medicine, the explanation remains superficial. The discussion of disadvantages is also brief, focusing on the difficulty of implementation rather than exploring the broader implications of such a policy. To improve, you should provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of how these experiences impact a student's long-term professional trajectory. The conclusion restates your position, but it does not fully synthesize the arguments presented in the body paragraphs.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'On the other hand', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing and repetitive sentence structures. For instance, the transition between the theoretical benefits and the practical examples could be smoother. Additionally, some referencing is slightly unclear, such as the use of 'this methods' in the conclusion, which lacks a clear antecedent. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring consistent pronoun reference would enhance the overall coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific terms like 'theoretical subjects', 'practical exposure', and 'curriculum'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and spelling mistakes, such as 'systme', 'sutudent', 'studing', 'paractical', and 'pacement'. These errors are frequent enough to be noticeable but do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument. To reach a higher band, you should focus on accurate spelling and attempt to use more sophisticated collocations and less common vocabulary to demonstrate a wider range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'universities has intitated'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'should included'), and prepositional errors (e.g., 'for obtaine'). While the meaning is usually clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation impact the overall fluency of the writing. To improve, you should focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and ensuring that verb tenses are used consistently. Increasing the variety of complex sentence structures while maintaining accuracy will also help raise your score.
