Student answer (Band 6.0)
The craze of studying abroad is growing day by day. It plays an important role in everyone life. It is saying that colleges should added overseas study programs for some time or add work placement for students who opted undergraduate courses. In my point of view the merits outweigh the demerits. In the further paragraphs I am going to discuss about this essay in details.
Firstly, let's talk about the advantages of spending time to study abroad for some time. A student will get exposure and gent to know how other universities works. To explain it, a student go somewhere for education. one will interact with other countries student. Apart from that one can use other educational institutions technology which might be not available in their country. Secondly, doing a work placement is very beneficial for student future. To illustrate it, one will get to know how outside world work. He will get a chance to work with experience people, which will help him to get designated job in the near future. One will be able to work confidently.
On the other side, the disadvantages. Starts with the universities fee would increase if they added study abroad program for few months. to explain it, every student has to pay flight fee as well as accommodation fee to live there. Thus, it can only be available for wealth family children. Moreover, taking work placement can be disadvantage. For example, In Australia, during studying Nursing. One has to attend multiple placement in between there study. All of them are unpaid. Sometimes student even do not have money for college fee and they have to work for free. In result, they gets destressed.
In conclusion, studying overseas for some period of time or doing a work placements has more benefit such as better future opportunity and better technology, yet has disadvantages as well like extra college fee.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention benefits like 'exposure' and 'technology', these points remain superficial and lack specific, well-developed examples. The discussion on disadvantages, particularly the nursing example, is more concrete but still suffers from a lack of depth. To improve, ensure that each main idea is fully explained with a clear link back to the prompt. The introduction and conclusion are present, but the essay would benefit from a more nuanced exploration of the 'work placement' aspect versus 'study abroad' to ensure all parts of the task are addressed with equal weight.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'On the other side', and 'In conclusion'. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'In result, they gets destressed'). The transition between the two main topics—studying abroad and work placements—could be smoother. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that the relationship between ideas is more explicitly stated rather than relying on simple listing words.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task, but it is somewhat repetitive and lacks the precision required for higher bands. Phrases like 'growing day by day' and 'get to know' are quite informal. There are also some word-choice errors, such as 'wealth family children' instead of 'wealthy families' and 'designated job' instead of 'desired career'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic collocations and topic-specific vocabulary related to higher education and professional development. Expanding your range of synonyms will help you avoid repeating basic terms throughout the essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('colleges should added', 'they gets destressed'), missing articles ('in everyone life'), and awkward phrasing ('It is saying that'). While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. To improve, focus on proofreading for common errors such as verb tense consistency, pluralization, and article usage. Practicing more complex sentence structures, such as conditional clauses, would also help demonstrate better grammatical control.
