Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both advantages and disadvantages of studying abroad or work placements. However, the development of ideas is inconsistent. While the benefits (practical knowledge, independence) are mentioned, they lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The argument regarding the disadvantages is also somewhat superficial, relying on vague points like 'health issues' and 'anesteciya' (anesthesia), which are not clearly linked to the topic. The position is clear, but the overall task response is limited by the lack of cohesive argumentation and insufficient elaboration on the points raised.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical flow is frequently interrupted by awkward phrasing and missing transitions. While some cohesive devices like 'Furthermore' and 'In conclusion' are used, they are often placed incorrectly or followed by fragmented sentences. The progression of ideas is difficult to follow because the relationship between sentences is often unclear. Referencing is sometimes confusing, and the lack of punctuation makes it difficult to distinguish where one idea ends and another begins, which hinders the overall coherence of the text.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and often repetitive. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'all institutes programmes provided much term' and 'not get a jobs'. The student attempts to use some academic vocabulary, but these attempts are often inaccurate or misused, such as 'anesteciya' instead of a relevant medical condition. Spelling errors are frequent and occasionally impede the reader's understanding. To improve, the student needs to focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement, article usage, and tense consistency (e.g., 'all university provided only theory base knowledge'). Punctuation is largely absent or incorrect, which makes the text difficult to parse. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, significantly impacting the clarity of the message. The frequency of these errors is high, which prevents the essay from reaching a higher band score.
