Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, including a period of studying abroad or doing a work placement in undergraduate courses has become incresingly common.while this development may have certan drawback,i would argue that the advantages are considerably greater than the disadvantages.

There are several compelling reason why the benefits of studying abroad should be recognised. The most significant advantages is that student can explore more knowledge while studying abroad. They can learn their ethical and moral value better as compare to their own country. This is largely because they could servived indipendatly Admittedly this devopment is not without its drawback. One potential concern is that some student are not thatmuch confident so they face more difficulties to live alone without their family. This can be particulary problematic when they dont know how to cook or how to take care of themself.some students take advantages of their freedom and they went themselves in bad possition. For example some female student know thay can do what ever they want because no one is keeping eye on them so they try bad thing like drugs and promote nudity as result they go deep into bad situation.Nevertheless these disadvantages are relatively limited when compared with the broder benefits of thsi statement.

In conclusion, although studying and working in abroad may give rise to certain challenges i believe that its benifets clearly outweigh its drawback.it provide more employment to the among students and help them to make their future bright.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the main arguments are relevant, they are under-developed and lack sufficient supporting evidence. The example provided regarding female students is problematic as it relies on generalizations and lacks academic tone. To improve, you should expand on your points with more detailed explanations and ensure you meet the length requirement to allow for a more thorough exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the progression of ideas. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and occasionally inaccurate, such as the abrupt transition 'Admittedly this devopment is not without its drawback.' There are also issues with punctuation and spacing, such as missing spaces after periods and commas, which disrupts the flow of the text. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that your paragraphing is clearly defined by proper punctuation and spacing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive, often relying on basic terms like 'bad' and 'good.' There are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'incresingly,' 'certan,' 'indipendatly,' and 'benifets.' These errors, combined with the limited range of vocabulary, make the writing feel simplistic. To reach a higher band, you should aim to use more precise academic vocabulary and pay closer attention to spelling. Avoid informal or overly generalized language, especially when discussing sensitive topics, to maintain a professional tone.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('student can explore,' 'some student are'), missing articles, and incorrect verb tenses ('they went themselves'). The sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences are often marred by errors in punctuation and syntax. The lack of proper capitalization at the beginning of sentences and after full stops is a consistent issue. You need to focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and proofreading for punctuation and capitalization errors to improve your accuracy.
