Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is argued that all undergraduate univirsty courses should include a period of studying abroad or completing a work placment such as internships . Although this has both advantage and disadvantage but I believe that advantages are greater than disadvantage.
on the one hand, the most importent advantage could be that student could have the abilty to gain a practical experience before graduate . Studying abroad could provide them more useful knowledge or another point or way of view on thier field especialy if thier field related to technology and they travel to japan or china . in terms of work placment it will give them opportunity to discover these field and try it practical as a results, it may improve thier skills such as communication skills , teamwork and problem solving . for instance studying engineering could be hard but practice it could be harder, an engineer that learned all theories can apply it in real projects as a result students could have better employment offers after graduation
on the other hand , some parents can not afford trawling abroad for thier children because it could be expensive and student have to pay for thier accomodation and living expenses . in addition, some students find a difficult to spend time far from thier parents. moreover parents prefare to complete thier studies then trying to find job.
To recapilulate, although study or work before graduation can create financial and personal difficulties for some families meanwhile students will become more independent and improve thier future employment offers.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of mandatory study abroad or work placements. The position is clear throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the argument regarding engineering and practical application is relevant but could be expanded with more specific detail or a more nuanced explanation of how this impacts long-term career prospects. The counter-argument regarding financial constraints is mentioned but lacks depth. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more comprehensive supporting evidence and ensure that your arguments are fully explored rather than just stated.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'on the one hand', 'in addition', and 'to recapitulate'. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly inaccurate, such as the use of 'meanwhile' in the conclusion, which does not fit the context of a summary. Additionally, referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words will help create a more natural progression of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing you to express your ideas clearly. You use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'internships', 'employment offers', and 'accommodation'. However, there are frequent spelling errors throughout the text, such as 'univirsty', 'placment', 'importent', 'trawling', and 'prefare'. These errors are noticeable and detract from the overall quality of the writing. To improve, you should focus on proofreading your work to correct basic spelling mistakes and attempt to incorporate a wider range of less common lexical items to demonstrate more flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('student could have', 'parents prefare'), article usage, and pluralization ('advantage and disadvantage', 'these field'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with spaces appearing before commas in several places. While you attempt complex sentences, the frequency of these errors means that the control of grammar is not consistent. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common grammatical slips will help improve your score in this area.
