Student answer (Band 5.0)

These days we can see that social gathering and social media have taken lots of time of the student and apart of all these these students there only resource of learning is internet. So to make it more productive all the academy should add a time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement. I do agree withe the topic and my points given below will clarify.

if university are going to add one more period it will benefit a child and there academy financially. How? when there a topic where a a child can be gromed properly parents wont even think to spend on there child, so financially university dont need to think about the expensices, and a child will also get an experence of studying abroad and he/ she will also be get to know his weakness. For example, right now i am but scared about living alone far away because i have not gotten any experence.

Why do we study for? for getting a good salary, and for a good salary you need to be a employe. by adding a period of a work placement, it will give a student of how work environment, what are their pors and cons. and it will help them for becoming a good version of them selfs

in conclusion, this would not outweigh the disadvantage because these is non. It will only benefit a student and a university, university will get its repo build up and student will get ready for there future.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by expressing a clear position in favor of the proposal. However, the development of ideas is limited and lacks depth. The arguments regarding financial benefits for universities and the personal growth of students are presented but remain underdeveloped and somewhat illogical. For instance, the claim that universities do not need to worry about expenses because parents will pay for a 'groomed' child is not a sound or well-supported argument. The response touches on the advantages but fails to meaningfully address the 'disadvantages' part of the prompt, dismissing them entirely without analysis. To improve, you should provide more substantial, logical reasoning and concrete examples to support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the flow of ideas is often disjointed. While there is an attempt at logical progression, the transitions between sentences are weak or missing. For example, the jump from discussing social media to university policy in the introduction is abrupt. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often repetitive or misused, such as the phrase 'How? when there a topic where a a child can be gromed'. The conclusion is also quite brief and does not effectively summarize the main points. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, focused topic sentence would significantly enhance the coherence.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is quite limited and often imprecise. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'gromed' (groomed), 'expensices' (expenses), 'experence' (experience), and 'pors and cons' (pros and cons). The range of vocabulary is insufficient to express complex ideas clearly, relying on basic, repetitive language. To reach a higher band, you need to expand your vocabulary to include more academic collocations and precise terminology related to education and employment. Additionally, careful proofreading is necessary to address the numerous spelling and word-form errors that detract from the overall quality of the writing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that often impede readability. There are persistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'university are going to', 'university dont need'), article usage, and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or run-on, such as 'Why do we study for? for getting a good salary'. While there is an attempt to use complex structures, they are frequently inaccurate, leading to confusion. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, ensuring subject-verb agreement, and using punctuation correctly. Reducing the number of errors is essential, as the current frequency of mistakes makes the text difficult to follow at times.
