Student answer (Band 5.0)

Nowadays unemployment becomes a very serious concern for many socities to adress such problems universities should also need to include a perioud of time for students to study abroad or doing work placemwnts for well fare of students. thiss essay will discues about both advantages and dissadvantages regarding this matter

commencing with the most salient merit which is future security .If universities start giving work placemnts to students after the completion of study this could help them alot fir there future as it could could be a great apportuniey for a startup . ass for some extent it also help in increasing the implyment rate of a nation. Students who start work after there studies can financialy support there family. moreover studing abroad could be very help full for gaing new expecience of a country

Desipe given advantages it also have some dissagrements it all universities start offering work placements by there own all students will not have any burden on them which could make them more lazy . If things would be more easy for eveybody there would be no iner spiret in students for becoming sucessfull in there life. it is not easy to give work placements to thousands of students as population rate is much higher thaa vacancies in various sectors of work as a result students become more independent and reponsable for there future.

In conclusion it very good to give apportuities to students like work placement and studing abroad . but it should given to individules by checking there capablity so that they should be no wastage of a job or time .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of including study abroad or work placements in undergraduate courses. The writer presents a clear, albeit basic, position throughout the essay. Ideas are introduced regarding future security, financial support, and potential drawbacks like student laziness or the logistical challenge of placing thousands of students. However, these ideas remain somewhat underdeveloped and over-generalized, as seen in the brief treatment of disadvantages such as 'students become more independent and reponsable for their future' which contradicts the earlier point about laziness. There are minor omissions in depth, but the task is sufficiently answered, earning a solid Band 5.5.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay displays some overall organization with recognizable paragraphing, including an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. However, progression is frequently hindered by mechanical or missing transitions, and referencing is sometimes unclear, such as the sudden shift in subject matter in the third paragraph. Cohesive devices are used in a basic manner ('commencing with', 'moreover', 'in conclusion'), but mechanical errors and awkward phrasing create choppy flow. Paragraphing is attempted, but the internal logical flow between sentences requires more careful structuring. This performance aligns best with the Band 5.0 descriptors.

Lexical Resource — Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is generally basic and repetitive, with numerous spelling and word-choice errors that occasionally impede communication. Examples include spelling errors like 'socities' (societies), 'perioud' (period), 'placemwnts' (placements), 'thiss' (this), 'discues' (discuss), 'dissadvantages' (disadvantages), 'apportuniey' (opportunity), 'implyment' (employment), 'financialy' (financially), 'help full' (helpful), 'gaing' (gaining), 'expecience' (experience), 'Desipe' (Despite), 'eveybody' (everybody), 'iner spiret' (inner spirit), 'sucessfull' (successful), and 'capablity' (capability). While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary ('salient merit', 'employment rate'), the high density of foundational spelling and lexical inaccuracies restricts the score to a Band 4.5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 4.5

The response utilizes a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar and punctuation is weak throughout. Run-on sentences and missing punctuation are prevalent, such as in the opening sentence: 'Nowadays unemployment becomes a very serious concern for many socities to adress such problems universities should also need to include a perioud...' Errors in subject-verb agreement, tense consistency, and preposition usage are frequent. For instance, 'it also have some dissagrements' and 'it should given to individules'. These errors cause noticeable difficulty for the reader and mean that error-free sentences are the exception rather than the majority, placing the grammar at a Band 4.5.
