Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses all parts of the task by taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and discussing both practical skill development through work placements and the benefits of studying abroad. Ideas are generally relevant, but some points remain under-developed and tend to over-generalise, such as the brief mentions of independence and time management. Examples, such as a computer engineering student working in an IT company, help support the position, though they are somewhat simple. The conclusion reiterates the main stance effectively. Overall, the fulfillment of the task aligns well with the Band 6 descriptors, as all parts are addressed with relevant ideas, but further extension and depth are needed for a higher band.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement, and paragraphing is used to separate different points, such as work placements versus studying abroad. However, cohesion is sometimes faulty and mechanical, with awkward transitional phrases like 'In current time', 'Apart from that', and 'In other side'. Referencing can also be unclear, as seen in sentences like 'That also learn how to manage my time...', where pronoun reference shifts abruptly from plural students to the singular first person. While there is a logical progression from introduction to body paragraphs and a conclusion, the mechanical nature of the cohesive devices and referencing errors place this performance firmly within the Band 5 to Band 6 range, leaning towards a Band 5.5 due to noticeable cohesion issues.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, attempting some less common items such as 'cybersecurity', 'practical enhancement', and 'professional life'. However, there are frequent spelling and word-choice errors, including 'advatnage', 'outweight', 'becuase', 'studiyng', 'Acutal', 'imporant', 'studing', 'programm', 'acutally', 'cloud', 'alreaady', 'rela', 'esaily', 'intreact', and 'creak'. These errors occasionally draw attention, but they generally do not impede overall communication. The range is minimally adequate and shows an attempt at vocabulary variation, fitting the Band 5 descriptor criteria where noticeable errors in spelling and word formation occur throughout the text.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Whenever any student enroll in that type of practical enhacement programm that actual build their skills...' and 'That way students are more esaily intreact with real entity...'. However, grammatical accuracy is weak, featuring frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('There are many citizens believe', 'students are also aware about the how acutally work'), missing articles, incorrect prepositions, and awkward clause structures. Complex structures are often faulty. While communication is not entirely obscured, the high frequency of errors across basic and complex structures places this text at a Band 5 level.
