Student answer (Band 5.0)
All universities undergraduate courses sholuld include a period of time spend studing abroad this is only fessible for ellite class who can afford the budget to study abroad. Some students want to study in other countries they should give them scolarships to study there and it help in literacy rate and also encourage the students to study hard.If students study abroad they have a totally new expericence without their guardians and help them to stabalize their life own their own.
Mostly students are extroverts and like socializing and it is a really great opportunity for them. Many new experiences happened with the students if they live on their own and become independent but do not make it compulsory because some students are introverts and have issue to live and communicate with others in new place.
some students are sick and not allowed to go anywhere and it affect their study and feel homesickness which make things worse and trumatizing for young students.
Work placement is also very good thing for those students who need money for education purpose. If they do any work its include in their skill and if they know any work then it improve and they have grip on that skill. This also improve their living standards. They do not burdenize their parents for fee they earn and become independent in young age and become responsible. They become disciplined and mature.
Both things are really good and should be included in undergraduate courses but it dependents on the background of the students which they choose for themselves.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing both studying abroad and work placements, considering advantages and disadvantages such as financial burdens, independence, and health issues. However, the development of ideas is limited and somewhat disjointed. For instance, the mention that studying abroad is 'only fessible for ellite class' introduces a valid socioeconomic point, but it is not fully explored or balanced against other viewpoints. Similarly, the points regarding introverts and health issues are introduced abruptly. The position of the writer is somewhat unclear at times, shifting between supporting and cautioning against these programs before concluding that it depends on the student's background. Therefore, the response aligns best with a Band 5.5 descriptor due to under-developed ideas and partial exploration of the prompt's nuances.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay lacks clear logical organization and progression throughout. Paragraphing is poorly handled, with several sentences crammed into single blocks or shifting topics abruptly (e.g., jumping from scholarships to living experiences, then to introverts, and suddenly to physical health in the next paragraph). Cohesive devices are minimal, repetitive, or inaccurate, and referencing is often unclear, such as the pronoun use in 'and it help in literacy rate'. While there is an overall attempt to arrange ideas related to studying abroad and work placements, the lack of effective signposting and logical transitions hinders the readability of the text, placing it firmly at a Band 5.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The student displays a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task. Words such as 'fessible', 'ellite', 'scolarships', 'expericence', 'stabalize', and 'trumatizing' contain severe spelling errors that reveal a lack of control over basic word forms. Less common vocabulary items are attempted, such as 'socializing', 'independent', and 'living standards', but their impact is undermined by frequent inaccuracies in word choice and collocation, such as 'burdenize their parents'. These noticeable errors cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical score to a Band 5.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on a mix of simple and compound structures, with frequent attempts at complex sentences that are often faulty. Run-on sentences and comma splices are a major issue throughout the text, as seen in 'Some students want to study in other countries they should give them scolarships...'. There are persistent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('it dependents on') and missing articles ('for education purpose'). Punctuation is largely neglected, with missing periods and capitalization errors at the beginning of sentences. Because errors are frequent and occasionally cause difficulty for the reader, this merits a Band 5.0.
