Student answer (Band 6.0)
Education is a lifelong process and it has a great value in this highly competent era. Beyond the theoritical knowledge, all university undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placements. I strongly agree with this point as there are many advantages of an internship training.
Firstly, if we elaborate the benefits, value of the expriences we can get from such an opportunity is immeasurable. Though we spend two or three years with books or in front of a screen doing academics, it only helps to enhance the knowledge. If we are unable to use them practically, what is point of learning for years wasting our money and time. To use the theories that we have among the pages of the books, there should be an opportunity. For instance, just imagine a swimming lesson in a class without getting into a pool. Will the child or the learner be able to swim?. Like wise, university students must be given a chance after their academic period. Otherwise, they won't enahnce their skills and they may not be able to shape themselves for the need of the society.
Moreover, exposing ourselves to the society itself remains as a great achievement. Students only associate peers and they don't have a proper understanding about the society. Communication skills, leadership qualities, inter-personal and intra-personal relationships can be developed by engaging in an internship. When consider about my personal experience, after two academic years at the college of education, we were appointed as internship trainee teachers to a government school. To be honest, the lessons I learnt from that school is more benficial for me than the two years I spent at the college.
In addition to that, placement in an abroad provides a muticultural exposure. As we live in a world which constantly changing and rapidly developing, we should be familiar with fascinating innovations available. So global platfrom is much valuable because we can get an idea, how to deal with the future technology.
As there are two sides of a coin, this also has pros and cons. But as advantages outweigh the disadvantages, my point of view is, it is ideal to facilitate students with a placement in local industry or foreign after the university academics.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages of including study abroad or work placements in undergraduate courses, clearly taking a strong agreeing position. The main ideas, such as practical application of theory, gaining societal and interpersonal skills, and multicultural exposure, are relevant and extended with personal examples, such as the writer's experience as an internship trainee teacher. However, the discussion tends to blend work placements and studying abroad somewhat interchangeably, and the mention of disadvantages is brief and undeveloped ("this also has pros and cons"). Despite these minor limitations, the main parts of the task are adequately covered, earning a solid Band 6.5 or 7.0 representation under the descriptors.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay presents a clear overall progression of ideas, moving logically from an introduction to practical benefits, societal exposure, international aspects, and a concluding summary. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct points, such as the swimming pool analogy and the personal teaching experience. Cohesive devices are employed to link ideas, such as "Firstly," "Moreover," and "In addition to that." However, referencing is occasionally imprecise, and some transitional phrases feel slightly mechanical or repetitive in structure. Overall, the logical organization allows the reader to follow the argument without difficulty, fitting the criteria for Band 6.5 to 7.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The student demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary suitable for the task, attempting less common items such as "immeasurable," "multicultural exposure," and "inter-personal and intra-personal relationships." However, there are notable spelling and word-choice errors scattered throughout the text, including "theoritical" instead of theoretical, "enahnce" instead of enhance, "muticultural" instead of multicultural, and "platfrom" instead of platform. Collocations are sometimes awkward, such as "placement in an abroad." While these errors do not impede overall communication, their frequency prevents the score from reaching the higher bands, aligning this performance with Band 6.0.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The writer uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, incorporating conditionals ("if we are unable to use them practically, what is point of learning") and rhetorical questions to engage the reader. There are several grammatical errors and punctuation slips present, such as missing articles ("what is point of learning"), awkward phrasing ("value of the expriences we can get"), and minor subject-verb or spelling issues ("Like wise"). Although these errors occur with some frequency, complex structures are attempted with varying success, and meaning is rarely obscured, justifying a Band 6.0 score.
