Student answer (Band 5.0)

Universities play a critical role in students life to make it better. Its often argue that all university should include a peroid of time spent studying abroad or doing work placement for undergradute courses. In my opinion that the benefits outweight the drawbacks.

To commence with, there are many point associated with it. The first and foremost point is, skill traning. To explain it, when universities give this oppocunity to student to having trip to abrod for study or work placement. So i think the learnes should give more intrest in study and gainning more knowledge about it. Because exploring it by itself helps more in there subject of study or work instead of book knowledge. Moreover, the another point is helps in further career. To justify this, when students take a trip to abroad in the way of studing and gaining knowlegde. So it initialy helps in their career like there skills which they learn from there educational trip will work in their future performance.

On the other hand, the negative effect of this is, different culture. To elobrate this, when a student go to abroad instead of take exoperience from there own country. So the risk off the work which they start in there own counrty will be effected because most of the work are uncommon in india according to other like firstly the tax, currency and other rule to start a business.

To conclude, although this have numerous point related to its drawbacks is the different culture. However, it also helps in better future or gaining skills.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of including study abroad or work placements in undergraduate courses, and presents a clear position that the advantages outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas is limited and at times repetitive. For instance, the discussion of the advantages focuses heavily on 'skill training' and 'future career' without introducing a wider variety of distinct supporting points. Similarly, the counterargument is somewhat brief and relies on a narrow example concerning different cultures and starting businesses. Because the ideas are somewhat under-developed and generalised, this performance aligns best with Band 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The response shows some basic organisation with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion. However, the overall progression is disrupted by mechanical and repetitive cohesive devices, such as 'To commence with,' 'To explain it,' and 'To justify this.' Referencing is also occasionally unclear, and sentences within paragraphs are joined rather disjointly, using phrases like 'So i think' or 'Because exploring it by itself helps more in there subject.' There is a lack of smooth transitions between ideas, particularly in the body paragraphs where sentences feel isolated. This reflects the characteristics of Band 5.0.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common topics related to education and careers, but these are marred by frequent spelling and word-choice errors, such as 'peroid,' 'undergradute,' 'outweight,' 'oppocunity,' 'abrod,' 'learnes,' 'intrest,' 'gainning,' and 'elobrate.' These noticeable errors and misspellings occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the lexical range to a basic level, making Band 4.5 or 5.0 appropriate. Given the minimality of adequate range with noticeable errors, a band score of 5.0 is awarded.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The student attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but many complex or multi-clause sentences are faulty and contain frequent grammatical errors. Examples include fragments and run-on constructions like 'In my opinion that the benefits outweight the drawbacks' and 'when universities give this oppocunity to student to having trip to abrod for study or work placement. So i think the learnes should give more intrest.' Punctuation and capitalization are also inconsistent, with frequent issues like lowercase 'i' and misplaced full stops within clauses. Due to the limited control over complex structures and frequent errors that occasionally impede understanding, this warrants a Band 5.0.
