Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, the essay is unfinished and contains only 220 words, failing to meet the minimum requirement of 250 words. This under-length constraint negatively impacts the overall development of ideas. Furthermore, the final paragraph cuts off mid-sentence, leading to incomplete exploration of the points raised. While the arguments regarding practical experience and interpersonal skills are relevant, they remain somewhat under-developed due to the lack of sufficient length and a concluding paragraph.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay demonstrates some basic organization with introductory and body paragraphs, making use of transitional markers like 'At the begin', 'Additionally', and 'In addition'. However, paragraphing is disrupted by formatting issues and an abrupt, incomplete ending. The logical progression is hindered by repetitive phrasing and awkward transitions. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and cohesive devices are sometimes mechanical or inaccurate, such as 'At the begin' instead of 'To begin with'. Overall, the logical flow is somewhat disjointed.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The student uses an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting less common items such as 'interpersonal skills', 'theoritical knowledge', and 'professional development'. However, there are numerous spelling errors throughout the text, including 'prectical' for practical, 'theoritcal' for theoretical, 'benefical' for beneficial, 'volunter' for volunteer, and 'proffessionalist' for professionals. These lexical errors and awkward word formations indicate a limited control of word choice and collocation, though communication is generally maintained despite the slips.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but control over grammar is inconsistent. There are several noticeable grammatical errors, such as 'all university undergraduate students should require to spend' (passive voice error) and 'i believe that given statement advantged outweigh' (missing articles and incorrect word form). Punctuation and sentence boundary errors are also present, and the response ends with an incomplete sentence fragment. These errors frequently cause strain for the reader.
