Student answer (Band 4.5)

Nowdays many student or peaple belive that all unverity student think for studying in abroad or doing a work placement. In my opinion the advantage of this idea is equal to liitle greater than its disadvantages . Lets start with it’s advantages when we come for study in abroad we face new people which is good for social skills like talking or many other. We have many new ideas how we can chenge our life . Some time we jobs in different companis for fix time. But in this time we learn a lot of things. Our cv becaome strong. A student work in a company of business management here he learn teamwork which is very beneficial for finding job after graduation . And study in different country boosts your confidence and independence so you can adopt a new cupture as well so this is the benefits in my opinion

And now in my suggestions the main disadvantages of living abroad is the cost of living. Such as your salary is 500 eruro and your expenses is 700 euro so you should have to manage. And later some student fell lonely or stressed when ther are far away from home . Sometimes beacuse of wrok placement student should not pay heed to her study and his scholarship get cancelled and some time company discharge the employee. But nevertheless these problem can be reduced by getting an other scholarship and support from university. so benefits are still greater in my opinion.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position on whether the advantages of studying abroad or doing a work placement outweigh the disadvantages, concluding that the benefits are greater. Ideas are presented, such as social skills, independence, and career preparation through work placements, alongside disadvantages like cost of living and stress. However, these ideas are often under-developed and lack extended explanation or specific real-world examples. Phrases like "we face new people which is good for social skills" demonstrate a limited expansion of points. The position is maintained throughout, but the lack of thorough elaboration places this response firmly at Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The text is divided into two main body paragraphs following the introduction. While there is an attempt at organization, the overall progression is difficult to follow due to a lack of clear cohesive devices and poor transitional phrases. Informal conversational starters like "Lets start with it’s advantages" are used instead of academic transitions. Referencing is frequently unclear, as seen in sentences like "But in this time we learn a lot of things" and "so this is the benefits". Paragraphing is basic, grouping disparate ideas together without clear internal logical sequencing, which corresponds to the Band 4 descriptor.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by severe spelling errors throughout the text. Examples include "Nowdays", "peaple", "belive", "unverity", "liitle", "chenge", "companis", "becaome", "cupture", "eruro", "beacuse", and "wrok". The student attempts some less common topical vocabulary such as "scholarship", "independence", and "business management", but the high frequency of spelling and word-choice errors (e.g., "study in abroad" instead of "studying abroad") causes considerable strain for the reader, placing the response at Band 4.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.0

The response shows a very limited range of grammatical structures. Most sentences are simple or poorly constructed compound sentences, and attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty, such as "A student work in a company of business management here he learn teamwork". There are constant grammatical errors, including missing articles, incorrect prepositions, subject-verb agreement issues (e.g., "student... get cancelled"), and tense inconsistencies. Punctuation is also weak, with missing capitalisation and comma splices. These frequent errors distort meaning in places and restrict the score to Band 4.
