Student answer (Band 5.0)

Universities are place where a student spend most of precious time. Most of the university's bachelor curriculum should include a complementary period at certain time to discuss few important topics such as overseas education or doing an internship. In this essay, I will discuss benefits exceed the drawbacks.

To begin with, it can give students plenty of enough knowledge. Collage has these type of fixed period to discuss about their future than student can get an idea of which country should offer them best education or to choose a work placement. During this period not only teachers but students can also expect help from fellow candidate as both of them have same subjects. These can also benefits their ability of group discussion where each and every personality is different. Therefore, by these way it could help a person to make good choice.

Another key factor is by introducing extra period it can save students precious time and resources. If campus has these type of classes than student doesn't have to roaming around without any reason as every little advice is provided by faculty. Due to this there will be no necessity of hiring an agent to just to provide information or visiting countless time just to get minor information. for that reason, It can save students time and money.

On the other hand, it is useless for a candidate who has already planed everything in advance as they have made their mind. thus they can definitely visit these kind of classes just to get the reality check by the experience person.

To conclude, Although a person is already made their mind, I believe that By including a period it could advice many students. This is primary because candidate can get proper information or guidance and also can save a person's limited resources.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The student attempts to address the prompt regarding whether the advantages of studying abroad or doing a work placement in undergraduate courses outweigh the disadvantages. A position is stated in the introduction, claiming that benefits exceed drawbacks. However, the development of ideas lacks clarity because the prompt specifically asks about studying abroad or work placements, whereas the student's text reinterprets this as having special classes or seminars on campus to discuss these topics. For instance, the student argues that classes save students time and prevent them from roaming around or hiring agents. This misinterprets the core premise of actually undertaking international study or internships. Consequently, the response addresses the prompt only partially, leading to a band score of 5.0.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is organized into five paragraphs, including an introduction and conclusion, demonstrating an overall structural arrangement. However, the progression of ideas is hindered by awkward referencing and mechanical cohesive devices. Phrases such as 'To begin with', 'Another key factor', and 'On the other hand' are used, but the internal links within paragraphs are often faulty. For example, 'If campus has these type of classes than student doesn't have to roaming around' creates confusing transitions of thought. Paragraphing is attempted, but the logical flow between sentences frequently breaks down due to ambiguous pronoun referencing and repetition, placing the response at a band 5.0.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, frequently impeded by word-choice and collocation errors. Examples include 'precious time', 'bachelor curriculum', 'fellow candidate', and 'reality check by the experience person'. There are also numerous phrasing issues such as 'plenty of enough knowledge' and 'countless time'. While the student attempts some less common vocabulary like 'complementary period' and 'resources', the inaccurate usage and persistent word-formation errors (e.g., 'Collage' for college, 'planed' for planned) mean the lexical range is limited and minimally adequate, fitting the band 5.0 descriptor.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student displays a very limited range of grammatical structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few faulty attempts at complex forms. Frequent errors are present throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement issues ('Universities are place where a student spend', 'student doesn't have to roaming'), tense inconsistencies ('as they have made their mind'), and missing articles. Punctuation and capitalization errors also appear, such as lowercase 'for that reason, It can save'. These frequent grammatical errors cause some difficulty for the reader and restrict the score to a 5.0.
