Student answer (Band 5.0)
In this advance world, many graduated students have introduced a new case that all the university undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement. This is not just a statement, it is going to become our study strategy in future. It has many advantages and disadvantages as well, that cannot be denied. It will completely change the way to studying. As the work placement and studying abroad are the future plans for those students who want to get success in their lives.
I think that all university undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or work placement that will lead them to a suitable job opportunity. Or studying the future oriented material that will definately make them fruitfull. In many countries the people have studied for many years but still they don't have any suitable job, this is the main gap that will be filled only by puroposed plan. The work placement or studying abroad proved to be a disadvantage, as it take extra money to travel or extra time to find a work. But if we adopted the method that mentioned above can be proved more beneficial for students that have solid interest in their studies and they really want to do some work.
I have heard about the studying abroad by the Joint Degree Programs in european side universites. That program proved to be very beneficient, as those students that studied via such programs have adopted multicultural life style. They have multiple options to adopt.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both the advantages and disadvantages of including study abroad or work placements in undergraduate courses. The writer presents a clear position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, linking it to job opportunities and practical experience. However, the ideas are somewhat limited and lack deep extension. For instance, the mention of disadvantages is brief, noting only that it takes extra money and time, without fully developing these points. While the prompt is addressed, the overall development falls short of Band 7 requirements. Consequently, a Band 5.5 is appropriate for Task Achievement due to under-developed ideas and limited support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The text demonstrates some organization, dividing thoughts into introductory, body, and concluding sections. However, the overall progression is hampered by weak logical transitions between sentences and paragraphs. For example, the transition from discussing job gaps to the disadvantages ('The work placement or studying abroad proved to be a disadvantage') is abrupt and lacks cohesive phrasing. Paragraphing is also erratic, with the first body paragraph containing a disparate mix of ideas ranging from job outcomes to financial costs. Reference words are occasionally unclear, making it hard to follow the exact logical thread. Overall, this reflects a Band 5 performance where cohesion and paragraphing are basic and sometimes faulty.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is minimally adequate for the task, featuring attempts at less common lexical items such as 'multicultural life style', 'future oriented material', and 'puroposed plan' (intended as purposeful). However, there are noticeable word choice and spelling inaccuracies, such as 'advance world' instead of 'advanced world', 'definately', and 'fruitfull'. The range is limited, and these lexical errors occasionally cause minor difficulty for the reader. The use of repetitive phrasing like 'studying abroad or doing a work placement' also restricts the score. This profile fits the Band 5 descriptor well, showing a limited yet functional vocabulary with frequent slips.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, such as 'Or studying the future oriented material that will definately make them fruitfull.' However, attempts at complex sentences are frequently faulty, leading to grammatical inaccuracies and punctuation issues. Errors include subject-verb agreement problems ('as it take extra money'), awkward phrasing ('the way to studying'), and sentence fragments. While communication is generally maintained despite these frequent errors, the lack of a wide range of error-free complex structures prevents the writing from reaching Band 6. Therefore, a Band 5 is assigned, as frequent grammatical errors cause some difficulty for the reader.
