Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, it is considered that bachelor courses make sure to involve a period of time for the pupils studying in foreign or doing a work placement. As far as i am concerned, there is no denying that the advantages of this would outnumbered the disadvantages.

To initiate with, self confidence plays a pivotal role in developing a good character that is the basic element for the student. By studying in another country, they deal with different clutures, natives and their food and so on. There you experience the level of difficulties. In addition, it develop a sense of responsibility and polish your attributes by adding some obstacles in your convenient path. It is exemplified as, a group of knowledge seekers who faced the ups and downs of life before their graduation have an enormous ratio of success than the students who never deal with such type of harsh realities.

Moreover, work experiences are cruical as somehow they assist them in understanding their interest and working abilities. They become aware to their skills and capacity of doing challenging tasks. Considerably, they work under a supervision that nourishes their attitude towards discipline. They make sure to follow the schedule and the framework on time as it will facilitate them in upcoming years. In many companies and higher educational institutes, they prefer individuals with good academic background as well as some work experience such as internships or part-time jobs.

To conclude, i firmly belive that this addition to the courses will be a great initiative and will support them mentally and financially. These favourable points clearly demonsrates that it should be a part of their study.,

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

The response addresses all parts of the task by discussing both studying abroad and work placements, and clearly states a position that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. However, some ideas are more fully developed than others. For instance, the discussion on self-confidence and dealing with different cultures in the second paragraph remains somewhat general, relying on vague phrases like "and so on" rather than fully extended, concrete examples. The third paragraph offers more relevant development regarding internships and practical employability, but overall, the progression of ideas would benefit from deeper elaboration to meet higher standards. The main position remains clear throughout the essay, satisfying the core requirements for this level of task response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay presents a coherent overall arrangement with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used appropriately to separate distinct ideas, such as personal development through studying abroad in the second paragraph and professional skill-building through work experiences in the third. However, cohesion is at times mechanical or faulty. Devices such as "To initiate with" and "Considerably" are used awkwardly, and referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen with pronouns like "they" and "them" shifting abruptly between university courses, students, and companies. While logical links exist between sentences, the flow would be greatly enhanced by more natural and varied transitional phrases and tighter referential clarity.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

The writer demonstrates an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting some less common items such as "pivotal role," "knowledge seekers," and "employability." However, there are noticeable lexical inaccuracies, word-choice errors, and awkward collocations that reflect a limited level of precision. Examples include spelling and word-choice slips like "outnumbered" instead of "outweigh," "clutures" instead of "cultures," "cruical" instead of "crucial," and phrases like "an enormous ratio of success." Additionally, minor capitalization errors such as lowercase "i" appear throughout the text. These errors do not seriously impede overall communication, but they prevent the vocabulary score from reaching a higher band.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, demonstrating attempts at subordination and relative clauses. There are, however, a number of grammatical errors and unnatural phrasing patterns in the sentence structures. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues such as "it develop a sense of responsibility," prepositional errors like "studying in foreign," and awkward infinitive structures like "capacity of doing challenging tasks." Punctuation and article usage also show occasional lapses, such as missing articles before singular countable nouns. Despite these various errors in grammar, the meaning generally remains clear and they rarely impede the reader's understanding of the core message.
