Student answer (Band 5.0)

Some people believe that all university undergraduate student include a period of time expand studing abroad or doing a work placement. This can provide students with partical experiences, improve their confidence and communication skills. However, it can also be expensive for some student. I believe that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

There are two main benefits why I agree with this statement. Firstly, partical experience, when students doing work with their relivent course job, when they complete their courses they have too much information about relative jobs. They have better jobs opportunites. For example, when they apply a job interview they have many knowledge about their jobs Forthermore, their communication skill is improves. they have better knowledge to talk other person.

In addition, when students go to abroad for study or doing work they have improve their confidence. They have better experience about their job so they feel relex and improve their confidence, they cannot feel any presure and focus their job interview. However, their is also one significant drawack. when student go to abroad from study but some student cannot affort this expensive so they donot travel and some student feel very bad and they have withdraw their study. For example, some student donot affort their expensive to go abroad for study. In future company prefer the people who go to abroad for study not they.

In conclusion, I think that the denefits like better communication skill, improve their confidence and pratical experience outweigh the drawback espacilly, expensive for some students

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

The response addresses all parts of the task by presenting a clear position and discussing both advantages, such as gaining practical experience and improving communication skills, and disadvantages, specifically the financial burden. However, the development of these ideas remains somewhat limited and repetitive. For instance, the discussion on practical experience relies on general assertions rather than fully extended examples, with sentences like 'when students doing work with their relivent course job' remaining underdeveloped. While a clear stance is established in the introduction and maintained through to the conclusion, the arguments lack the depth and extension required for a higher level, placing this response firmly in the middle tier where ideas are touched upon but not fully explored.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The essay displays an overall logical arrangement with a clear attempt to structure the response into an introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Paragraphing is used to separate different points, such as the benefits versus the drawbacks. However, cohesion is frequently mechanical and sometimes faulty. The writer relies heavily on basic cohesive devices like 'Firstly,' 'In addition,' and 'However,' and referencing is occasionally unclear, as seen in phrases like 'not they' at the end of the text. Furthermore, the progression of ideas within paragraphs lacks seamless transitions, creating a choppy reading experience where sentences do not always flow smoothly into one another, which is characteristic of this level.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The vocabulary used is frequently basic and repetitive, employing words like 'job,' 'study,' and 'experience' excessively. There are numerous noticeable errors in word choice, spelling, and word formation, such as 'partical' instead of practical, 'relivent' instead of relevant, 'relex' instead of relaxed, and 'denefits' instead of benefits. Additionally, unnatural collocations and word forms, such as 'withdraw their study' and 'affort this expensive,' appear throughout the text. These lexical inadequacies and frequent spelling mistakes cause some difficulty for the reader and prevent the vocabulary from reaching a more competent level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying primarily on simple sentences alongside a few unsuccessful attempts at complex forms. There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb forms and tenses, subject-verb agreement, and articles. Examples include 'all university undergraduate student include,' 'when students doing work,' 'their is also one significant drawack,' and 'some student donot affort their expensive.' Punctuation is also weak, marked by run-on sentences and missing capitalization at the beginning of clauses. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty for the reader, though the core meaning of the writer's arguments remains largely discernible.
