Student answer (Band 5.0)
all university undergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studyin abraod or doing a work placement. many people think this as a bad startegy and others are in the favor of this policy but in my opinion it has more advantages rather then drawbacks .here are some of my assumptions regarding to this scenerio firstly if you will go for a short period of time particulary for compeleting a course you will get insight of other countries education system then in future you will get a ease of taking a decission whether you want to study in foreign country or not . morever it will also help you to develop connections with internation people that will help you in long run . as they will make you aware about various opportunities they will get to know .additionaly when you will visit somewhere around the world you will exchange your cultural and traditional things with your international fellows that will bring many skills to you as you get expertie of adapting in any enviornment also it will develop a communication skill and many more .if we look at the acdemia advantages then here is another pro like if you have performed well during your acdeima session then may be your professor reaches you out in your future for upcoming any oppurtunity as many fellowship programs happens nationaly and internationally .while there are no such disadvantages seems to me.yeah their are some stereotypist indviduals those who promotes staying within a small circle type of behvaior because of their fragile type of egothat tells them to not interact with other nationals

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages and disadvantages of including study abroad or work placements in undergraduate courses, meeting the minimum word requirement once the eleven copied prompt words are excluded. However, the treatment of the task is limited and under-developed, which keeps the response at this level. The position is stated early on that advantages outweigh drawbacks, but the development of ideas remains quite superficial, such as mentioning developing communication skills and cultural exchange without providing detailed supporting examples. Furthermore, the counter-argument regarding disadvantages is dealt with very briefly and dismissively by attacking individuals rather than offering a substantive view on the potential drawbacks, such as financial costs or logistical difficulties. To move to a higher level, the ideas need to be much more fully extended and supported with concrete examples and balanced reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
The text suffers from a lack of proper overall organisation, mainly because it is presented as a single massive block of text without paragraph breaks. There is an absence of clear paragraphing to separate the introduction, body points, and conclusion. While a few basic linking words like 'firstly', 'morever', and 'additionaly' are used, cohesive devices are generally inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, making it difficult to follow a clear progression of thought. Referencing is also sometimes unclear, and the lack of proper punctuation means sentences bleed into one another without logical boundaries. To achieve a higher score, the writer must organise information into clear paragraphs and use a wider, more accurate range of cohesive devices to guide the reader smoothly through the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is of a limited, minimally adequate range for the task, with noticeable errors in spelling, word choice, and word formation that occasionally cause some difficulty for the reader. There are numerous spelling mistakes throughout the text, such as 'studyin', 'abraod', 'startegy', 'scenerio', 'particulary', 'decission', 'internation', 'additionaly', 'expertie', 'enviornment', 'acdemia', 'oppurtunity', 'nationaly', and 'stereotypist'. Additionally, awkward word choices and forms appear, such as 'international people', 'cultural and traditional things', and 'egothat'. While the writer attempts some less common vocabulary, the high frequency of lexical inaccuracies restricts the score. To improve, the student needs to expand their control of spelling, refine word choices, and use precise collocations appropriate for academic writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The response displays a very limited range of sentence structures, relying heavily on strings of clauses connected by conjunctions rather than controlled complex sentences. Punctuation is virtually absent, with missing capital letters at the start of sentences and a complete lack of periods to separate distinct thoughts. There are frequent grammatical errors in verb forms, articles, and prepositions within grammatical patterns, such as 'more rather then drawbacks', 'if you will go', 'insight of other countries education system', 'get a ease', and 'professor reaches you out'. These frequent errors and the lack of proper punctuation cause noticeable difficulty for the reader. To progress, the writer must incorporate a wider variety of accurate complex structures and master basic sentence boundaries and punctuation.
