Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response addresses the task only minimally, primarily due to failing to meet the minimum word count requirement of two hundred and fifty words, as the text stops abruptly at one hundred and fifty-one words and is left unfinished. While the writer manages to express a clear position regarding whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, the ideas remain very limited and under-developed. There is an attempt to introduce reasons such as personal and professional development, but the sudden termination of the essay prevents any full exploration or conclusion of the argument.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation in the response, featuring an introductory sentence and initial attempts at body paragraphs, but there is no clear overall progression due to the incomplete nature of the text. Cohesive devices are used in a somewhat mechanical or repetitive manner, such as starting sentences with 'To begin with' and 'As a result'. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final paragraph breaks off mid-sentence, indicating that logical development and referencing are interrupted and unresolved.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The lexical resource is limited and minimally adequate for the task, containing noticeable spelling and word choice errors that occasionally cause difficulty for the reader. There are multiple spelling errors throughout the text, including 'universites', 'studing', 'firmily', 'view points', 'infrastucture', 'contribut', 'travels', and 'studend'. While the writer attempts to use some less common vocabulary items like 'professional development' and 'critical thinking', these inaccuracies in spelling and word formation restrict the vocabulary to a lower band level.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The writer uses a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside a few attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. Frequent errors in grammar appear across the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues in 'universites undergraduates courses should include' and article errors like 'in the german university' and 'form all the regin'. Additionally, prepositional and structural patterns are handled inaccurately, as seen in 'contribut in improve individuals well-being', resulting in frequent errors that cause some difficulty for the reader.
