Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays, It is observed that enhancement of students by studying abrod or work placement while thier study. From my perspective, having a work placement or learning from other country have more benefits compare to the drawbacks. This eassay will initially highlights the advantages and expalin with pertinent illustrations how they outweigh its drawbacks.
Firstly, one evident benifit to having a work placement is enhance student experiance. In other words, when the student apply thier knowlede on work and observe the dioffrance or thories and prectical in this way the misstakes are remove. For Example, My classmate join intership while graduation and he works prectically and he learned theories very fast. And the result after graduation he got a very good job because of his experiance of related field and he get handsome amount of selary. Secondly, another plus point of studying in another country would increase the knowlede and confidance. When we study abroad having to learn lot of things like meet different culture, languge, people, and also observed different ideas. when we talk with residents of other counties the confidance increase student understang how to deal different people and how to handel any situation. Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by discussing the advantages of studying abroad and doing work placements, taking a clear position that the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. However, the development of ideas remains limited and under-developed. For instance, the discussion regarding work placements relies on a very brief personal example about a classmate, and the second body paragraph shifts abruptly into an anecdote about a teacher rather than properly expanding on how studying abroad builds confidence and cultural understanding. To move to a higher band, the writer needs to extend and support all main points with fully elaborated explanations and more substantial, relevant examples rather than relying on brief, anecdotal fragments.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
There is some basic organisation evident in the essay, with an introduction and body paragraphs attempting to address the topic. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the flow is frequently disrupted. Cohesive devices are used inadequately or inaccurately, such as repetitive transitions like 'Secondly' and mechanical links that fail to establish smooth logical relationships between sentences. Additionally, paragraphing is poorly handled, with the main body lumped into overly dense sections. To achieve a higher level of coherence, the writer must use a wider range of cohesive devices more accurately, ensure clear referencing throughout, and structure the text into distinct, logically sequenced paragraphs where each central theme is properly isolated and expanded.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is limited and barely adequate for the task, containing noticeable errors that frequently cause difficulty for the reader. There are numerous spelling mistakes, such as 'abrod', 'eassay', 'expalin', 'benifit', 'experiance', 'dioffrance', 'thories', 'prectical', 'misstakes', 'intership', 'selary', 'knowlede', 'confidance', 'languge', 'handels', and 'lacture'. Furthermore, word choices and word forms are often inaccurate, such as 'handsome amount of selary' or 'culminate the lacture'. To progress to the next band, the writer must significantly expand their lexical repertoire, improve basic spelling accuracy, and learn proper word combinations and collocations suitable for academic writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
The grammar demonstrates a very limited range of structures, consisting mainly of simple sentences and faulty attempts at complex clauses. There are frequent errors in verb forms, tenses, subject-verb agreement, articles, and prepositions, such as 'enhancement of students by studying abrod or work placement while thier study', 'when the student apply thier knowlede on work', and 'the student ask them a question which is unexpected by teacher'. These persistent errors can cause considerable difficulty and confusion for the reader. To improve, the writer needs to practice constructing accurate simple and complex sentence forms, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules like subject-verb agreement and tense consistency, and minimize structural errors.
