Student answer (Band 4.5)

In the era of modern education, it is highly supported that all university undergraduates courses include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement.

There are a lot of pros of doing this, because it will result a lot of possitive changes in our education system and bought some good changes in our lives also. In the further paragraphs, we will discuss how the benifits of this will outweight the drawbacks of it.

To being with, the undergraduate courses in all universities sholud add a period of time spent studying abroad or for some other purposses. It will make some positive changes, just like it will make the sence in students that how students learn's in international universities in the advance countries.

Second of all, students who get time for the work placement in universities can grow very beautifully just like a flower who get proper attention by the gardners.

According to my own observation and experience, I would like to go with the statement that all universities udergraduate courses should include a period of time spent studying abroad or doing a work placement, because when I was young and undergraduate, our university introduce this, and it proved itself, we get scense that how students can get good experience in our life in international univesities.

To sum up, we discussed about it a lot, and we also explain the prons of it. According to my point of view, the advantages of this are a lot as compare to its disadvantages, they will be outweight the cons of this statement.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

The response responds to the task only minimally and tangentially, struggling to fully engage with the prompt's complexities. Furthermore, the length requirement is NOT met: the student's response contains 227 words, falling 23 words short of the 250-word minimum (note that 36 words copied directly from the task prompt were not counted). While the writer states an opinion that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages, the ideas are severely limited and under-developed. For instance, the argument that studying abroad makes 'sence in students that how students learn's in international universities in the advance countries' lacks clarity, and the comparison of work placement students to flowers receiving proper attention from gardeners is overly simplistic and tangential rather than analytical.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation, but the response lacks a clear overall progression. Paragraphing is attempted, with an introduction, body sections, and a conclusion, but the paragraphs are brief and underdeveloped. Cohesive devices are frequently inadequate, inaccurate, or repetitive, such as the mechanical transition 'Second of all,' and the repetitive formulaic openings. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as seen in the phrase 'when I was young and undergraduate, our university introduce this, and it proved itself,' where pronouns and connective links fail to smoothly guide the reader through a logical sequence of ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

The vocabulary used is basic and repetitive, with numerous noticeable errors that strain the reader and obscure meaning. The student attempts basic descriptive and academic terms but frequently misuses word forms, spellings, and collocations. Examples of lexical errors throughout the text include 'possitive' instead of positive, 'bought' instead of brought, 'benifits' instead of benefits, 'outweight' instead of outweigh, 'purposses' instead of purposes, 'sence' instead of sense, 'advance' instead of advanced, 'gardners' instead of gardeners, 'udergraduate' instead of undergraduate, 'introduce' instead of introduced, 'scense' instead of sense, 'univesities' instead of universities, 'prons' instead of pros, and 'compare' instead of comparison.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response demonstrates a very limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple or faulty complex sentence forms. Grammatical errors are frequent and often distort meaning or cause difficulty for the reader. There are persistent issues with verb forms, tense consistency, and subject-verb agreement, such as in 'all university undergraduates courses include' where the plural/possessive agreement is flawed, and 'it will result a lot of possitive changes' missing the necessary preposition 'in'. Other notable grammatical slips include 'how students learn's in international universities' featuring an incorrect possessive verb contraction, and 'when I was young and undergraduate, our university introduce this' exhibiting tense shifts.
