Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is argued that all universities should include certain amount of time to study in abroad or for work placement. It has its own benefits and drawbacks. I believe that advantages outweigh the disadvantages.

The primary advantage is that students can learn new skills. When student study in foreign country they can experience new cultures and traditions. In addition, students can learn modern technologies that which are not present in the undergraduate course. So, by that skills students can get job in the market with good salary which helps them to be financially independent. Another benefit is that it helps to improve country economy. When student return to their native place after gaining more experience then they tends to start many startups and innovation works, which create more employment opportunities for the graduates with good salary. Hence, this contributes improve the country financial growth.

The primary disadvantage is that financial pressure. Fees in other country is very high to pursue course. In addition, cost of living is very high in the abroad to spend time there. So, it is difficult to mange expenses for the middle-class families which creates more pressure on them to pay monet on time beacuse of this students can't concentrate on the education which leads to failure. Another drawback is difficult to adopt to new culture and climate. climate in other country is very cold as compared to native country. it causes health issues.

Inconclusion, studying abroad has both positives and negatives. Hower, I belive that benefits outweigh the disadvantages because, it helps students to learn skills which help to develop both individuals and the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you believe the benefits outweigh the drawbacks. You address both sides and give relevant reasons, including skills and cultural exposure, possible employment and economic benefits, and financial and adjustment difficulties. This covers the task well. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the link between returning students and “many startups” or national economic growth needs a clearer explanation or a specific example. The disadvantages are also less developed: the discussion of climate and health is brief, and the essay could distinguish more clearly between studying abroad and completing a work placement. To strengthen the response, explain how each example supports your overall comparison of advantages and disadvantages.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for advantages and disadvantages, and a conclusion that restates your view. Sequencing within the paragraphs is generally understandable, and linking expressions such as “In addition,” “Another benefit,” and “Hence” help show relationships between ideas. At times, however, the progression feels mechanical, with several points introduced in a list-like way rather than developed into a connected argument. Some references are also unclear, such as “by that skills,” and the conclusion repeats the main position without drawing together the comparison. Use clearer referencing and vary the links between cause, example, and result; for instance, explain how a placement or overseas study leads to a particular employment outcome.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “financially independent,” “employment opportunities,” “financial pressure,” and “culture and climate.” There are also attempts at more specific terms such as “modern technologies” and “innovation works.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which limits precision: “study in abroad,” “start many startups,” and “country financial growth” do not sound natural in this context. Spelling errors such as “mange,” “monet,” “beacuse,” “Hower,” and “belive” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Build a bank of natural phrases for education, employment, and economic effects, and check spelling and word forms carefully during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures with “which” and “because,” and most of the intended meaning can be followed. However, control is inconsistent, especially in subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence construction. Examples include “When student study,” “they tends to start,” and “it helps to improve country economy.” The clause “modern technologies that which are not present” also combines relative structures incorrectly, while “Hence, this contributes improve” is missing a grammatical link. Punctuation and capitalisation are uneven, particularly at the start of “climate in other country.” Practise accurate sentence patterns before adding complexity, and proofread each sentence for a clear subject, verb, and complete clause.
